as an ex panel beater pdr is another skill entirely , some are exceptionally good , most are average , I would have liked to have had a crack at it back then .also I think and I could be wrong but sometimes its would be cheaper to just change the panel /paint it , in some circumstances

Are there ever instances when a roof needs to be cut off & replaced instead of doing PDR work? We have a 2014 Ram 2500 that got hit with up to golf ball size hail. There might be 10 dents on the roof. It doesn’t look too bad to me, but our insurance put in our estimate for the roof to be replaced using one from a junk yard. I don’t like the sound of that. Seems like it won’t be as structurally sound.

Yes, I've seen roofs replaced. But I don't recommend a used roof. New oem is a must

PDR is also being used for collision repair these days with the strong glues. Top Gun PDR is one of the pioneers in collision repair with PDR. Gemini Dent Repair and Dent Discount Repair and PDR Training are two KZbin channels that actually show the amazing process.

PDR is an awesome trade to get into, and works so great with general panel and paint. For example, a small dent on a panel to be blended can be pushed or glued out within a few minutes and makes the job so much nicer. Hail is the pinnacle of PDR really, it's often very hard to get deep hail dents out totally due to stretching and other hail dent characteristics, but that's why the good hail PDR techs get the big bucks. Painters in the hail pop up centres get big $ too.

This is the best method to me .but some shops work the dents out and fill with filler.
