Releasing tension in our diaphragm, abdomen, belly, and stomach area with Bioenergetics allows us to breathe fully. In this video, I explain bioenergetic exercises to try out. In other videos, I have follow-along exercise routines that you do with me, and experience the results for yourself.

In bioenergetic analysis therapy, we speak about the releasing chronic and neurotic holding patterns in our inner tube and outer tube...both necessary for deep breathing.
These bioenergetic exercises help us to release tension in both the inner and outer tube simultaneously. There is a unique way to release tension in these bioenergetic sessions and I explain them here.
I hope this is helpful in both releasing tensions in the diaphragm belly/abdomen area while also promoting deeper full breathing.
If you are interested in learning why and how this Psycho Somatic therapy works so well, the best intro book for Bioenergetis is by Alexander Lowen himself, "Bioenergetics: The Revolutionary Therapy That Uses the Language of the Body to Heal the Problems of the Mind"
MEDICAL CHECK IN
Bioenergetic exercises are great for changing and upgrading our lives, however, this course it is not suitable for everyone. There are two areas you need to check on before getting into this course and beginning the series of exercises.
1. Mental Health
If you've ever been diagnosed with a psychiatric condition, then you need to check in with a suitably qualified person before beginning these exercises. If you have specifically been diagnosed with one of the following conditions, then you will certainly be excluded from doing these exercises on your own: history of psychotic episodes, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, and related conditions usually treated with heavy, suppressive medications.
If you currently are taking any form of inhibitory or mood altering-medication or have a history of injecting drug use, then you need to get medical advice prior to beginning these exercises. If you have a serious emotional or personality problem, do not attempt these exercises alone because they may lead to feelings that are more than you can handle alone. Here as mentioned earlier, it is necessary to get some professional advice.
To be clear, you need to have a relatively normal ego to practice Bioenergetic exercises without expert supervision. People not on medication but experiencing an emotional difficulty or even a “low level” mental health condition may find these bioenergetic exercises beneficial, yet it must be done prudently. If at any time you are threatened or overwhelmed by your feelings during an exercise, stop the exercises immediately, allow the feeling to subside, and seek professional help.
2. Physical Health
If you have any physical disability or illness, you should consult your physician before undertaking any program of exercises, including this one. The exercises by themselves are in no way dangerous or harmful to the body even in the case of illness, but for physical disability or illness, they should be done with the approval and guidance of a medical doctor.
Even though these exercises are not nearly as physically damaging as most gym workouts, you still need to be aware of any injuries or physical conditions you have had in the past. If this is true in your case, understand each exercise before starting, go slow, and ensure that you won't be over stressing a part of your body that you have had issues with in the past. Please take care and check in with a physical health specialist if needed.

Yes brother. Reich and Lowen were probably ahead of their time. Sadly this stuff is not taught in school. I was planning to be a bioenergetic therapist for a few years but life showed me a different path. I hope to keep sharing this thought- at least through this medium. Thanks for your kind words. tHanks for this, getting into bioenergetics lately and i know i have my heart closed and tension in my stomach area. Lack of emotional depth and vigor in my life. Hope to get relief from these exercises. I already do the bow daily but I’ll be sure to have eyes wide and also make noise on exhale whatever feels right. Also will try the roller on the stomach

I believe the most important thing is to feel it. Go deeply into the trauma and through the exercises, releasing happens. I'm not sure if a "complete reset" is possible but definitely, these traumas will not affect us nearly as much.

I did two variations of the bioenergetic stool. The first to opening up the chest area and the second like you did in 6:50., both for 3-4 minutes. Then I did the grounding exercise at 4:10. This was my main routine for about a week, but today I got dizzy, and my heartbeat got faster as usual, so I had to lay down a couple of minutes. Did I something wrong, or was that a bodily reaction of opening up?

Hey Fabian, I should have mentioned that when you do these exercises you are filling yourself up with a lot of oxygen. Sometimes I feel tingling in my hands and get lightheaded if I move too quickly from the bioenergetic stool to grounding or vice versa. It's important when getting up from these exercises, to do it very slowly.

@@HealingHouse88 All right, thanks! Next time, I try to slow down. I wasn't sure about the reaction because it wasn't emotional or anything similar. Actually, I am reading the books of Alexander Lowen at the moment, but I feel the exercises better if I do it in sync with a video guide. Maybe you just explain it better haha. but you are doing good work, man!

@@HealingHouse88 I thought about it the other day. You could do a series of videos in a similar structured way like the book "the Vibrant way to health" where you do a long video and focus only on the legs. From then on you go a bit higher and higher and end with a video about loosening up some head muscles (maybe just face muscles). Just an idea.

Hey brother. Yes, all of them should help. Focused breathing deeply into your belly, causing vibration to happen in that area through the different bow exercises, and also massaging into the muscles (start lightly with this last one).

Just an FYI, psychosomatically this is quite common and it happens often in our physiology due to an early psychological response of needing to "be in control" and not let our "belly hang." It was probably an appropriate bodily response to an early trauma but now it's not resourceful. If you can find a Bioenergetic Therapist near you, I'd definitely recommend it!
