It's always good to show how the fastener works before diving in to the install or removal methods. Most of the other rivet videos left that part out. Good job!

Finally a clear visual demonstration.. I thought before when drilling into the pop rivet I had to drill deep into the long piece. It just popped off when I drilled it. My problem is that my rivet was driven into a 3/8 inch piece of plywood (from the 1930s) so I hope it will simple complete pop off when I drill it. The affected object is a highly valuable chair.

Backup washers (made by pop-rivet) are good to use when attaching to thin sheet metal like the shed. They make the rivet much stronger.

Great instructional video! Thank you for the simplicity as I now understand how to use this fastening method. I totally understand why Honda outdoor motors & products are SUPERIOR to Briggs & Stratton! Briggs & Stratton uses pop rivots to fasten the recoil starter to their engines vs Honda who uses simple bolts (10 mm) that remove easily & don't cause metal to break off & fall into the flywheel area. If you need to repower your outdoor equipment, pay the extra up front for the Honda motor as it's well worth it in the long run. (Honda spare parts are 1/3rd the cost of Briggs & Stratton)

Great video…best explanation I’ve seen by far. I am trying to replace an interior pop rivet in my airstream travel trailer. The rivet head came off but I cannot extract the stem underneath the aluminum interior wall. I can flex the wall in but the stem seems to be “stuck” and will not eject. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Although I wont be able to see the other side as i need to remove a fridge door seal embedded behind a metal strip but i think it should help me. fingers crossed. In my case I think when I drill it just going to fall inside the door. My concern also is that what if i make the holes bigger then how will put the new rivets in.
