Thanks for a great tutorial! This gave me the confidence to tackle it (successfully!) myself. Getting the old one off was pretty tough. Ended up putting an old rotor on and using a sledgehammer. For anyone who has a 2016 Grand Cherokee Laredo you need an E20 external torx socket to get the brake calipers off. Amazing what a difference...I didn't realize how loud the old one was until I took it for a ride after finishing.

Thank for the video. Very helpful while swapping the assembly on my 2018. Adding the wrench sizes and torque specs particularly helpful.

You might need a bigger Hammer in Chicago! Lol
@kevinoutlaw27643 жыл бұрын
You could apply heat to the back of the assembly to loosen it. Just be careful not to melt your ABS wire

I'm also in Chicago, 2014 Grand Cherokee 4WD. I banged on it with a 3 lb hammer, no joy. Then a 10 lb sledge hammer, still nothing. Then I heated it good and hot with a MAPP gas torch, just the side I could get to where the heat shield is cut out because the ABS sensor is on the other side and didn't want to damage that. Then smacked it with the sledge again and voila! Off it came. Presumably you got yours off eventually, your comment is nearly a year old just throwing this out there for others.

Does the ABS sensor connect to the hub directly? I have a replacement I ordered but it doesn't have any visible place for the ABS sensor to connect. I have a 2014.
