Great tutorial although who ever attempts this will need to remove additional hoses/clips that are preventing the removal of the manifold. I recommend taking it completely out for added workspace. Overall I was able to use your video to complete the task in under two hours. Thanks for posting it!

Great video. Changing out the starter, I found that if you bungee up the intake manifold to the hood, it allows you to work easier to get into the space. Second thing is the 17mm bolt that holds the starter in was a super tough nut to crack. Took me almost an hour just to get that bolt free and out. If you have air tools, you are to use them for sure.

The only thing I would also add is when putting in the starter bolts back in is to use a swivel attachment and a very long extension. I had an extension that was almost 3 ft long. Trust me it saved me from getting bloody knuckles and it also gave me a bit more leverage. Thanks again for the vid.

Thanks Garage Boys, Great How-To. But I was unable to remove the 14mm Long Bolt. It was really torqued on. How did you remove it? (I tried PB Blaster, Butane Torch, Breaker Bar, didn't budge.) Ended up bringing it to the dealer where I was jobbed. (They quoted 3 hours labor). But your easy tutorial, made engine DIY a lot less intimidating. Great Video

I didn't have that issue but when I run across something like that I use a long pipe and attach it to the end part of the ratchet for better leverage. It will require less strength and give you more space. Look at my other video where I replace the alternator on the accord I use the pipe technique that I just mention.

Garage Boys mine looked little different (06). there was plastic box (dont know what it is) behind manifold. had so little room to work on. and bolts on starter were so hard to remove lol. had to buy super big torque wrench. but i made it. thank you

I didn't have to replace the gaskets so I don't think you have to. But gaskets are cheap and you are there any ways, you can replace them if you want.

I broke that connector that is on the engine block that you unplugged. Right to the rear of starter. Looks like a oil pressure sensor. Need to replace. Any help on name of part would help.

No not at all, just like you see in the video when I disconnect the manifold I just push it to the side

I can't remove the 17MM bolt it's stuck in there; it was a breeze till this point. I tried WD-40 and vinegar to loosen it. I am almost there but I have been stuck on this bolt for hours any tips tricks? :-(

Try to add a pipe to your ratchet to extend it, that will help you do less strength and increase your power. Look at the other video I have on my account about "how to remove a Starter on a Honda Accord" on that video I show how to extend the ratchet. That really helps a lot, the longer the pipe the less strength you need to use just make sure your ratchet is secure on the bolt. Let me know if that helped

I finally got the 17MM out after a day of trying. I used a 3" extension and a 17" long breaker bar to loosen it a bit. After that I replaced the breaker bar with a 14" long flex head ratchet and little by little it came out, I also used PB blaster spray on it; apparently WD-40 is not sufficient.

What you can do is remove the starter and take it to Autozone or any other auto shop they will check it for free. Also when you try to start again you will have to jump start the car because the battery has drained since you tried many times.

That nut under the intake is almost imposible to get at a real bitch i gave up on it and just pulled the manifold back .
