My fridge is 6 months old and the light came on. I replaced the water filter and when I went to replace the air filter - it never had one in there from the time they installed the fridge. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I “assumed” the air and water filters would be installed at the factory. Only the water was.

Air filter is not really required to be honest but some people like it because it can help keep foods fresh longer. It’s kinda the same thing as when people keep baking soda in the back of their fridge!

How does air flow with the cardboard still on???

I assume air still can pass through the filter element since the cardboard isn’t sealed air tight or anything.

The mystery of these air filters isn’t detailed… citing any documentation as to the proper orientation of the air filter. (open face showing filter internals outward … or facing the openings on the back of the fridge)
