Your videos have saved me thousands of dollars ! the lucidity and technical expertise is phenomenal and readily usable by even the most non-mechanical citizen. Because of your videos I have the discovered the slipshod repairs made by so-called reputable shops on my dime. sir you have liberated me from the tyrrany of the unscrupulous. Thanks.

I watched another rear hub assembly install, on an Nissan rogue, the guy removed the emergency park brake which I thought was totally unnecessary! especially if it's the same four bolts to remove like the Nissan Quest, your video is straight to the point without taking unnecessary parts off for wasted time. Great Auto repair video.😎✌👍

Great informative video. I have got to do this on my Murano, it looks like the same set up. I feel more comfortable tackling this myself now.

Amazing videos. Maxima making grinding noises at 50 mph. So easy to change the bearings on these nissans :)

When tensioning bolts make sure you don't overtighten them before you use the tension wrench to check them, some people will rattle them up with a pneumatic driver then put the tension wrench on to check but they are already overtightened, you should bring them up to tension evenly in a crosswise pattern till they are tight. That torque wrench will click on correct tension even if they are extremely overtightened.

Thanks for your input. I see you caught on to the part in the video where I was tightening the back bolts. Good eyes! :) ....I forgot to film it when I tightened it with the torque wrench so I went back in to film it after it was already torqued.

The torque specs are what I came for and you concur that it's 44 foot pounds---that just seems kinda low but that is what the manual shows.

Thanks for the video. I'm going to do it on my own for Murano 2007. What was the torque for the bearing and caliper?

Hello, my Nissan Quest SL 2004 is having difficulties starting, and I need to step on the accelerator to help it start. Sometimes, while the car is running it shut downs out of the blue. It started happening after oil change and engine flush. The repairmen recommended that I should drive on the highway with the speed of 90k/m for 10 minutes, which I didn't do. Do you have ideas why the car is having difficulties starting? How could I possibly fix it?

Hi this was a great video and very informative. Now I have replaced my rear passenger hub assembly on my Nissan Quest 2004 but an unusual issue happened where after this installation my ABS brakes are now impacted. So the ABS actuator when I press on my brakes is pulsating and I do not have any LIGHTS on my dash telling me any issues with the ABS system. So in other words my ABS is kicking in after the hub assembly replacement. I went a bit further where I took out the fuse related to ABS(right side under the engine hood) and this confirmed for sure it was my ABS. The downfall of removing the fuse is it impacted my SLIP,TCS & ABS where my dashboard was lite up with these warning lights. In addition to that my odometer was no longer working. So running without the fuse is not an option. I decided based on all of this to put back the old hub and the ABS issue is no longer occurring. I though maybe the unusual had happened that I had gotten a faulty/defective part, so I went back to my local part store and they did provide me another one but did indicate this was very unusual. Unfortunately the new part had the same issue. So I believe this confirms it's not a faulty hub part as well as my ABS sensor is not working either. The part is from AC DELCO and I know you indicated TIMKEN but is it really possibly that the AC DELCO hub kit simply is not the proper after market part and that the TimKen is the best choice? The price difference from my part store is $100 more for the TimKen and I'm willing to pay the extra but I'm not confident this will resolve my issue which is why I've not done this yet. Do you believe the TimKen hub is the solution to my problem? Also my part store told me that I could try to do a ABS system reset but I've search online and have had no luck in finding any instructions on this or do not even know if it's possible. So would you happen to know if an ABS system reset is a possibility on a Nissan quest and if so would you know how to do this or do I have to bring it to the shop? Any other suggestion(s) on how I could resolve my issue.

+Wayne Villon I miss type some info previously where I gave the impression that my ABS sensor was not working but I had meant to state it is working.

Great video..I think my wheel bearings may be bad aswell. I was driving the other day and pulled over to the side of the road because it sounded as is If I had a flat tire in the rear passenger side. No flat tire...So I got back in and continued to drive as I began to accelarate the thumping sound(like a flat tire) increased in speed aswell. I havent had a chance to check the brake or rotor yet, but if the brakes are fine do you think it is the wheel bearings?

My mom's 2002 Altima 3.5SE rear wheel bearings were REALLY bad. This must be a Nissan thing. They had no play, but they were very stiff. Also, I had to hammer on a screwdriver I stuck through the notch on the back of the wheel assembly to get the bearing assemblies out. It's a pretty easy procedure, though.

+Arnie Gordon Timken makes really good bearings, and for the cost, not worth saving few dollars for ones that will fail in a year.

Spray the outer edges (carefully, so that you don't get anything on the parking brake shoes) of the hub assembly with PB blaster or WD- 40 let soak. Then hit it the hub flange with a mallet or you can use a hub puller attached to a slide hammer and remove it that way.

+3865roofer It's a disk brake. The drum part is the parking brake. You don't change the parking brake.

Sadly, 160k on that shouldn't be considered high miles. My Chevy Trail Blazer had 244k on it when the transmission finally failed. That WAS a high miles vehicle.
