I just called a shop and asked how much for this repair. 300+😂😂😂😂 I called my local auto part store and asked how much for the front breaks, 65 dollars. Guess what I did... repaired it myself!

thank you so much for making such a in depth video im not broke but i have to stay cheap so id rather pay for what i need and do things for myself to save some money if i could say anything helpful for you it would be to explain the reason behind why you're do something but seeing what to do alone should be able to get me where i need to be

Great photography showing detail. Question is lower rubber bellows split near the bolt head? May explain being partially seized.

Yes. I would replace it , before a lot of water and contamination worsen it. Thanks for watching.

My KZbin was playing in the background when I noticed this video the difficulty with the slide pin is something I deal with regularly due to previous mechanics using anti seize instead of slide grease they don't realize that when the caliper Gets hot anti-seize hardens because it melts the the metal particles and pretty much just welds the slide pin

What happens if I just change the pads and I don’t do anything else like extract the brake fluid. Is this a big no no
@s33therfan
@s33therfan 2 жыл бұрын
As long as it does not overflow out the top. Even if it does you just need to clean all the brake fluid off of the painted surfaces because it is corrosive. Thanks for watching.

How do you pump the brakes, like what’s the steps when you are actually pumping the breaks; how many times, do I hold it down?
@s33therfan
@s33therfan Жыл бұрын
Just push the pedal ( or pump ) no more than about halfway , until rhe pedal becomes firm. ( usually takes 3 or 4 times ) After this the pads have made contact with the rotor. Even with the pedal firm make sure the brakes are stopping the vehicle properly and then take it for a test drive. Thanks for your question.

i find that those rubber seals on the pins swell up when used and makes the pins seize up, when it happens i just take them of , didn't feel any difference or problems without..

They claim they are supposed to prevent rattle, but they may be more trouble than they're worth. May be removing mine if it doesn't act right. Thanks as always for the feedback.

Hello dear. I thank you for your advice. And again I need your help. I have a GMC Acadia slt1. AWD 2008. When cornering, when I step on the speed pedal, there are sounds of crunching sound from the rear side. It feels like a wheel is touching the protective plastic. It has been tested. The brake disc does not touch the protection; and everything is normal. Maybe from the rear axle? Please, yours. advice. Thank you so much

Yes. It definitely sounds like there's an issue with the rear transfer case. From what I understand most will replace it vs trying to have it fixed. I would inspect the cv and wheel bearing hub and everything just to rule them out . Hope this helps.

@@s33therfan Hello. Thank you for your feedback, God give you all the best; I also thought; that the problem is from the rear axle. It's a pity that I live very far across the ocean, in the Republic of Armenia, it will be difficult for me to buy it. And I like the car is good. Thank you so much again. All the best to you.
