When the dog bone is loose, the jack has lifted the engine slightly higher. I think this can be avoided by using jack stands. However, that requires precise measurement of wood. Great video and thanks for getting under the car to show the specifics.

Great job on your videos. Excellent explanations, have seen quite a few & they are ALL easy to digest and saves a lot of time which is most important to a DIYr. TY

thaks very much mate from Australia. i had to also loosen the two bolts that hold on the bracket where the front of the dog bone connects to. the new dog bone was a couple of mm too wide
@s33therfan3 жыл бұрын
Seems to be a common issue with the dog bones being slightly wide. Thanks for the feedback.

With all these videos the one thing people overlook is mentioning if the car is a v6, 4 cyl or auto/manual. Other than that, good video.

Hi. Is this what you'd remove to access the left hand side lower control arm bolt that's in the way from the transmission pan?

My 2006 Mazda6s 3.0L automatic has the exhaust getting in the way of pulling the bolts for the torque mount. Any recommendations?
@joeperez351211 ай бұрын
I have same car and issue. Mine is a 2007 3.0. I think we need to just take off that one piece of exhaust to have room to reach our tools to bolts.

Great video. What are the symptoms of a bad motor mount (and transmission mount) for these cars ? Which of the motor mounts tend to fail first ? My car has the 2.3 non-turbo gas engine .
@s33therfan4 жыл бұрын
Excessive vibrations and noise radiating through the body and frame. The passenger side mount tends to always be the biggest improvement .thanks for watching.

Hi there not sure if you're still active here but 6:30 - 6:38 you can see some oil on the engine on the right side... sort of like a leak. I seem to be havin the same issue on my car because theres a ton of gunk all around that area, have you diagnosed this before?
@s33therfan2 жыл бұрын
This car had a leak at the rear main seal. Thanks for the feedback.

@@s33therfan oh gosh. Was it a hard fix? I’m new to fixing cars and slowly learning as i’m fixing my 6… i have to fix the dogbone but u noticed that i have the same leakage on mine
@garou53339 ай бұрын
I know it’s very late, but you wouldn’t happen to have the dimensions on the two bolts would you? Mazda does not make them anymore.. Recently had mine snap, this is my daily driver .

How is the mount holding up? Much info online on aftermarket being garbage quality so confusing which to buy, don't want to spend on oem for old car
@s33therfan2 жыл бұрын
It has held up great. Honestly I have not noticed a lot of difference in oem vs aftermarket , except in cases they do not mount up properly. In that case I just return it for another. Have not had that happen except for a few times. Thanks for the feedback amzn.to/3woDarZ

Can someone tell me when to change torque rear mounting and how to identify if ita faulty and neec to be changed as recently i changed engine and transmission mounting so does torque mounting also need to be changed? Can advice plz
@s33therfan10 ай бұрын
As long as the rubber is not damaged or dry rotted it may be okay. It seems to hold up better than the others for sure. Thanks for the feedback.

I replaced side mount of my mazda 6 2.0 diesel and now i have much more vibration on idle and acceletation than before could be this dog bone mount bad?
@s33therfan3 жыл бұрын
Possibly , it is kind of puzzling why the other mount would make the vibration worse. Usually each mount replacement sees a slight improvement. the passenger side mount being the most significant . Thanks for watching.

Hi S33therfan! Good video. When i turn my engine on it vibrates and twists slightly, could the reason be a bad dog bone? Thanks Mazda 6 2.2l diesel (2009)
@s33therfan4 жыл бұрын
It definitely sounds like the dog bone , however there also can be a lot of vibrations coming from the passenger motor mount. So that passenger mount as well unless its already been replaced. I would like to have one of those 2.2l diesel , I have heard they are great. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching.

The process is similar but the two bolts up top towards the front come out as well on ours. That's if you have an auto.

How long would you say it took you to replace that mount? What year Mazda?

No more than an hours time including getting it on ramps and chalked safely. And getting the tools and removal I would say around an hour. Thanks for watching.

Anyone have a problem with the mount not wanting to fit in the mount
@s33therfan Жыл бұрын
Some of the aftermarkets are too wide on one side. I took a grinder and had to take off an 1/8 " on one. Just get it flat and it will bolt up fine. Now it would be ideal to use a flat end mill but not everyone has a machine shop. Thanks for the question.
