What you describe are great strategies. The "whatever" thing (it's just not worth stewing over or perpetuating, whoever is right or wrong) reminded me of what an early mentor in my career told me: pick your battles! There ARE things that are worth really thrashing through...and things that are not. And I agree--peace is big with me. I want home, and our relationship, to be a peaceful place for both of us.

I’m getting married in 6 months and dealing with heightened conflict in our relationship with all of the stress we’ve had lately. This video was so helpful!!

Loving these videos with you and Daniel being so real and honest!! It’s so encouraging bc even godly and healthy marriages aren’t perfect and have struggles! THANK YOU for stepping out and posting this type of content! Keep them coming! We need this kind of content on social media too where everything is a highlight reel and only portraying the positive and good.

I think it's easy to think that couples you see "online" just don't argue or they have some magic way of avoiding conflict because that stuff is not shown online. But it's simply not true. Thank you for being honest with us and giving this incredible advice and all the advice ya'll give. ❤ You two make me feel so much more confident about pursuing holiness in my marriage.

These kinds of videos help me so much in my own relationship!! It's healing to see that other couples can also have healthy conflict and that even a "perfect match" has a lot of room for development :)

Hey Emily! Thanks to your videos I recently decided to save myself for marriage, which was hard and a dilemma to me, because sadly I already lost my virginity 😢 I am still dating my boyfriend, who is my first boyfriend. It was hard for me to decide, because of him. He told me it will be hard for him, but he accepts my decision although he probably will suffer with it. That always makes me sad, but anyway I've never been happier about a decision I've made (if I would heard earlier about saving myself for marriage, I definitely would made the decision earlier, so it wouldnt be that hard). Do you have any advice for me or other woman in my situation? Lots of Love, Mary, 20 years old

I'm just sad because the woman I liked stopped talking to me. :( I don't know why I'm commenting. Just watching Emily and Daniel talk is a bit comforting, I guess. I'm a bit alone, so there's no one around to talk to right now. Emily and Daniel are like an older brother and sister hehe

Things happen!! Don’t be too down about it. You have tremendous value as a person and son of God, don’t ever forget that!! Psalm 139. Although nothing wrong with feeling down either

Emily, I am a junior in college and I have been coming to your channel for like a year. I really like a lot of what you have to say. I have a question though and I am gonna open myself up and be vulnerable here. But I really want your opinion. I am in a Christian Domestic Discipline relationship with my husband. I feel like this relationship style is the best thing to ever happen to me. But some of the other girls in my home group are against my relationship but most are supportive. So I am wondering what your opinion of CDD relationships are. Do you support them or are you against them? Or are you just like indifferent? For us, its helped us to have a lot fewer arguments and have more peace and harmony

Even though it is not Catholic (and I am not Catholic), I would recommend checking out this podcast from Tulips and Honey on the subject. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWSye4aMbsurrLs )

Karissa, thank you for being honest and inspiring others to do the same. I am so glad that your marriage is the best thing taht ever happened to you! But my husband would never agree to be in a CCD relationship. Yes, he leads our family before God and has a great responsibility for it. Yes, I try to serve him, to love him and to submit to him every day. We are both human, man and woman - not equal, but with equal dignity, and my husband loves and respects me so much that he would never do things control or punish me. I can't imagine my husband ever using corporal punishment. He tries to be as mercyful as God the Father is, even if not right. My husband cares for opinions, listens to me and tries to love me like Christ would as much as he can. He is not perfect but he strives. (as we all do strive to imitate Christ's love in our marriages) If you are comming from Ephesians 5: 22-24, I recommend you to read Theology of the Body (or TOB for begginers from Christopher West) that really helped us in our marriage. Here is a bit from what it has to say: callingcouplestochrist.org/2015/09/04/ephesians- 5-be-imitators-of-god /

This just sounds disturbing to me. I can’t phrase it any other way. Please tell me where in the Bible it says that a man can raise a hand against his wife? It says to disciple your children, but nowhere does it say to actively practice your manly dominance upon her in the form of “spanking?” Just…the madness of this world. It’s another excuse for women to be scared into submission. Because if he hits you after every little thing he doesn’t like about what you do or annoys him, is that actually going to make you feel happy or pressured to conform to who he wants you to be? Just logical thinking here.
