I’ve been skating for YEARS. derby, hockey, speed team. All professionally I ended up having a pretty bad fall at the rink due to a little girl cutting me off a screw being on the floor. Tore my IT band in my left knee and have a small tear in my hip. Due to all the muscle and nerve damage it’s completely numb just below my knee and I’m still an avid skater THANK YOU MUSCLE MEMORY! I am mostly on 265 Riddells I used to be able to dip but not feeling my left leg has been…interesting, I’ve had to reteach myself how to do it. IT TAKES TIME AND PRACTICE! Once you get comfortable with riding your edges and you’re a strong skater backwards it’s like the puzzles fit perfectly. Just don’t give up!!

Visited your rink a few weeks ago while in Cali. Left my skates at home because didn’t come for skating but figured We would use rentals and honestly have to say I was so disappointed. My girl and I drove an hour to get there and didn’t even end up skating because the rentals were literally slimy. They were like oily and left a residue on my hands. The vibe in there was dope tho. Can’t wait to come back with my skates and skate with you cali folk. I’m skate in New York and I love y’all vibe

I hear you. We finally got confirmation from the manufacturer that we will get our new fleet in the next 1.5 months. We have been to best maintain what we but have struggled with usage and staffing. Here's looking forward to a better experience next time. FYI ... slimy means we sprayed them with disinfectant.

I can do a dip, but not dips. Meaning, every time the free leg comes back, there's a little pause/ hesitation (?) before switching to the other side. Also I don't know how to control the direction while dipping. There is no skate rink here, but if there were, I'll be all over the place distracting others😅(Sorry if my choice of words sound wierd, English is not my 1st language 😬)

Dirty, do you have any tips on keeping up momentum? I've tried this move a few times this week for the first time, and I find that after about two dips, I slow down to a halt and can't keep enough movement to continue with more.
@Dirtydeborahharry3 жыл бұрын

@ilariar.39613 жыл бұрын
I've been practicing these for a while and it happened to me a couple of times to fall (always on the same side, the bad one of course lol). I've been thinking...could it be because I was going too slow and therefore losing momentum so since you have your balance off-foot this results in falling on your side/bum? 🧐 Cause I'm pretty sure I got the movement right but maybe I need to try to start with a little bit more speed? (I do them really slow because I'm still a little scared but If that is the problem I am willing to try a bit faster)
@Dirtydeborahharry3 жыл бұрын
I am making a part 2 to this video. It will address one side vs. the other, coming back to center and gaining/maintaining momentum. It will definitely help you. Be out in one week.
