The idea that guests in RCT are secretly cats makes a hellavah lot of sense now: They can survive a drop from any height. Their claws puncture the hydrogen-filled dingy upon impact. They’re incredibly strong and destructive with random items around your paths and feel Zero remorse for breaking things as they nonchalantly saunter along. They hack up disgusting piles randomly everywhere. They really can’t deal with water. Peeps are cats.

To be fair, the rides breaking down at individual stations makes sense. If the station brakes fail, they don't fail in all stations at the same time.
@Torchkas22 жыл бұрын
RCT was made to play smoothly on computers at the time. With thousands of entities in some parks this meant that the code of all these individual entities had to be pretty simple. If you look through RCT's code you'll see that it's mostly made up of continuous multiplications and divisions by 2, because these are simple bitwise shifts in assembly. Such a feat being able to make a (somewhat) realistic simulation with these simplistic tools.

You can also "manually" repair rides with no exit path by creating a 1x1 path and dropping a mechanic on it. Just make sure you pick up and drop any other mechanics who get the call until the one on the platform does. Also, set the ride to have no inspections. This works great for "auxiliary park exits" where you build land in front of the exit to drop your guests through the terrain and increase admissions.

Of all the mods and fixes Open has offered, I'm surprised entrance/exit buildings that can be built on either of the three sides isn't a thing. That would be INCREDIBLE for space saving if you could have a queue line flush with the station without having to break to one side for two tiles to wrap over to the fixed entrance.
@manyChameleons2 жыл бұрын
That can be changed in OpenRCT2! I believe it requires the cheats menu, but you can rotate the entrance/exit buildings so guests enter parallel to the station. Check out Deurklink on KZbin, he definitely has guides on it.

I hope one day the buildings can be dispensed with entirely - that peeps will be able to directly enter the station. I feel like having wierd exits that just end up with using the queve line to leave fits things like the Crooked House/Hall Of Mirrors type rides (that are basically more like attractions, shame you can't do this with the haunted house though) actually makes sense in some odd way. More so than guests being DNA experiments of human and Navi from Avatar. Also this leaves it where you can use the tower/lift like the people are simply jumping without a parachute and love it.
@rudozawa2 жыл бұрын
There is another slight downside to exiting onto a queue - Because guests are leaving out of the queue entrance, they can't immediately queue back up for the ride, like they could if the exit path met up with the start of the queue.
