Thanks for the video. I've recently said "no" to family and they gave me a hard time about it not taking "no" for an answer.

At the pause. I'd say "I can't right now as that's another direction from the one I'm working on right now, right now the focus is _____ as the change of standards/ legislation/ continuous improvement - say why. Suggest another department or lead, and then let them know you value their work. Edit - second pause. As my week is full, let me know the subject and I'll be happy to shoot you an email with my thoughts. Edit - Sorry I made a promise to myself to not over commit, while I see your group has merit my timetable simply cannot free that time. Edit. My fav is the first, second is the second. Maybe next time if the opportunity and our work paths are aligned, I am interested in working on these topics _____."

No is my favorite word. However, my husband doesn't know how to say it. I've got him lots of trouble in the past. Unfortunately the number one problem has been spiritual squanders.

The issue of healthy boundaries is one that fascinates me. In some ways, boundaries at work is a bit easier for me because I'm in a specific role. Saying no and maintaining boundaries personally requires additional wisdom and skill.

So the polite way to say no is to make up an excuse? What if I just don’t want to?
