The black, green and red tam was my favorite. And black and red are my favorite color combination . The knitted tams are definitely more stretchy than the crochet hats. I use to make hats from my recycled wool sweaters. Good video!:)

Great video I hear that man I once bought a tam off Amazon the seller said it would fit chest length dreads but it ended being a regular jeep hat they also used the wrong pic

I've been a loose natural (always in twists) for 7 years and wore a lot of head gear. I finally decided to stop playing and loc it up. Your locs are _amazing_ wow. Thanks for showing how you rock your tams. Edit: you're killing it in that black one!!! Love it.

Great video! I have one that was pink white and blue, it was cool but the only problem was that is kept leaving lint and yarn strands in my hair. The second one I got was that beige color you have, it was perfect... but I lost it XD currently waiting for another one

Yea I have one like that, I forgot to show it, it's red yellow and green. I use it as my winter wear hat
@solb1012 жыл бұрын
Please clarify Johnny. You prefer the woollen tam to the cotton? If either one is knitted I assume the wool is more stretchy. Thanks for the masterclass.
@JohnnyTheDred2 жыл бұрын
I prefer the tight knit cotton ones as opposed to crochet type knits
@solb1012 жыл бұрын
@@JohnnyTheDred Ok thanks. I heard that but it got me confused. I know knitted cotton can be quite stretchy but in humid weather it makes your head sweat. Wool is good for wicking the moisture and warmer for winter though.

Thanks for talking to us about your tams! I have a question about getting my hair into a tam. I'm about 1.5 years in and have two congos similar which come down over my ears, and lengthwise are now not too far from my shoulders. I'd love to start putting them up (tied and/or in a tam) now that they're long enough. Problem is that I get painful tension on my scalp whenever I move my locs up, to the front or back. They're not flexible enough to bend, gotta flip them from the root. Can I do something to lessen the tension over time? Was thinking of bearing the discomfort for increasing periods to 'train', or do you think i'll damage my hair/scalp?
@JohnnyTheDred3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like they might not be long enough to do what you want just yet. So it's causing you tension for that particular thing. The longer they get the more things like that you'll be able to do. Only things I can suggest is trying to play with your hair a bit once it's in the tam, see which ways give you little to no tension. Or just hold off a bit longer until the length is right for that
