"Don't make yourself vulnerable to someone who already proved being umtrustworthy" wow! This really needs a highlight. I've heard "therapists" encouraging ppl to cater to their abusers, saying that narcissists "can be safe people and we can't judge them". I feel I learn a lot from the short question answers live.

Hey Lisa, I’m new here and I believe You nailed it with your answer to having a discussion regarding speaking your truths with each other! Truth with Love and Compassion when spoken to another regarding personal issues that are there between them. As far as the “Let’s be nice” for the sake of them being uncomfortable. You nailed it, Toots! Face it head on and address the issues. That sounded like a You problem, for him! Especially a person of age, I may be 68 and it took me this long to learn to face them, eye to eye, and not back down! You disrespect me once, we’re done. I don’t have to accept being crapped on from Anyone! I didn’t come this far just to… Come This Far! Keep telling as it IS, Soul Sis! 💜💜💜

im so confused and exhausted from a lifetime of toxic parents who just trample over any attempt at a boundary ive put in they gang up and deny reality or rage or plead ignorance....how do i know when to give up trying to set them and painful as it is end contact
@Connie10000 Жыл бұрын
I slowly had to LET GO~ it was completely affecting my health. I was constantly asking for advice from others in what to do. IT wasted so many years of my life. ❤ I Journal now asking questions and waiting for Holy Spirit/Inner Spirit of mine to answer. Then I sense better how to handle someone. *Think about how MUCH of your SOUL ENERGY & others' are being depleted by the toxic people in Your life.
@kobra4422 Жыл бұрын
Do you live with them? If not, limit the contact and be persistent in your boundaries. You can talk abt "safe" topics like weather, world events and ignore them when they want to interfere in your private life. The less you share with them the less they can interfere with. If they try to push your boundaries, ignore them, don't get into arguments. And if they still trample you, even though you put those boundaries then you need to limit the contact more.
@Connie10000 Жыл бұрын
SHARE LESS of personal info of any kind. I understand it won't be easy YET SAFER Subjects are Best as another person commented. 😇Praying & thanking God you can SENSE when it's time to END the conversation & Walk Away without emotions. ☆☆ Even go into bathroom to take mental break to DISCERN.

My husband has a family that gaslights him alot. And I find him gasligting me sometimes. Whenever I say I like something he will gaslight me by saying I thought you didn't like that. Almost as if he is trying to make me seem as if I'm inconsistent with my opinions. It's very strange because I'm very diligent & thoughtful with my opinions. I rarely make snap judgments on liking or disliking something. I like giving things a couple to tries before I give a positive or negative opinion. But his mother always makes snap judgments and it's usually always negative judgments. Is he gaslighting me or projecting his mother's tendencies onto me?

MY SON BEAT ME UP 2 YEARS AGO on Valentines Day in front of my granddaughters. The girls have not been allowed to see me but still see their Dad, my son...he went to Anger Management....I went to 3rd floor mental ward in my local emergency room, got out and am putting my life together my way. Actually, Gods way.

unfortunately stepparents can be heinous and hateful to the children of their spouse. Teenagers don't know how to have conversations with an abuser, and it is not their responsibility. In many cases, the parent leaves the parenting to the wicked stepparent and takes a backseat to their job as a parent. Abuse by stepparents is very common and many youths dont realize they are being abused, because their biological parent is allowing it. this happened on both sides for me and both parents allowed their partners to abuse me, and in the present day, the stepparents forbade their children, my half siblings, to communicate with the first born.

"When you get married that family becomes your first priority" Um, no? You don't abandon your family just because you're living with a man. He shouldn't become your "first priority" atThe expense of everything else, that would make him the narcissist. This is some bizarre first world or third world stuff. Many things she talks about only work in specific contexts.

Oh gaslighting she forgot to add how they can also say ( him )oh you took what I said literally?? ( me) yes because that’s what you told me so I thought that’s what you meant. ( Him) no you can’t take everything I said literally I don’t always mean what I say… why is everything so black and white with you? Your insane. When are you gonna realize I’m always right and your always wrong. I adore you but I can’t live my life always fighting. ( me) Iooking at him and thinking I am the problem? maybe I’am crazy?
