Are your peaches fresh eating (freestone) or canning peaches with the attached stone that don’t melt for canning? I prefer the freestone and really don’t have much trouble canning them.

What could I use to kill the grass and weeds in my new Strawberry patch without hurting my plants or runners?
@articmars12 жыл бұрын
Not paraquat. Its persistent and will kill any broadleaf plants you have. That is dangerous stuff and it sticks around. And personally i would not eat anything it was sprayed on. There are so many better ways to handle weeds. Use mulch. Its safer and will break down over time and feed your plants as it does.

Nice video on the setup and selling at the farmers market. We do 3 markets a week, 1 on Wednesday and 2 on Saturday. Income varies from $400 to $1400 depending on what is selling and if you are the exclusive selling something like the peaches. We market vegetables, and fruit from cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, and finally apples. We are primarily a cattle ranch with 5 acres of organic fruit and one greenhouse.

Wait you buy fruit from a farmer , repackage it and sell it under your farm? That fake man! That is not farm fresh, that is no different than a super market. Where I live the government clamped down on farmers that did this, it is false advertising!

Everyone know that we bring in peaches. Our crop will be ready in 2 week. We get a early start on our season with southern Missouri peaches.

desi go they are called pin hookers! I'm a farmer and what I have to put up with... Not farm fresh! But ask them if they grew it and they will tell you yes... The public does not no and difference. False advertisement, not doing the right thing...

Yes I agree, those are BADER FARM PEACHES. I buy from Bader every year. You can resale at Arkansas Farmers markets if you tell customers that you did not grow it.

I think most people in the region know almost every seller of peaches gets them from an orchard somewhere, mostly Campbell. But, it’s the ones selling other things that we can easily grow is BS!

I had to stop shopping at my local farmers market, and now drive 32 miles to one because I found out some of the farmers weren't growing what they were selling. I was not happy. I buy at a farmers market and pay more for 2 reasons 1) to show my support to farmers 2) to have the food that they grew and harvested themselves. To sell something at a farmers market that a person didn't grow is like a padded bra, false advertising. 😠
@robwells3544 жыл бұрын
So buy from the ones that do . 32 miles , guessing it's an upscale neighborhood from your condescending tone.

Does it also make you mad if a farmer hires someone else to pick their fruit?
@Kristina-mm9ih3 жыл бұрын
@@marcjones2493 That is such a supid question. I think it is resonable to not be happy when people pose as farmers who grew and picked farm fresh local food, when they actually just went to the store and got stuff that has been stored from who knows where. If you cannot understand that logic, I don't know what to tell you. Not to even menion the fact that they are charging farm fresh local prices.
@marcjones24933 жыл бұрын
@@Kristina-mm9ih so you're saying they're "posing" as farmers and lying. You didn't say that (and I doubt many people lie about it if asked). That would be bad because it's dishonest, but if you rhink only farmers themselves should sell from the stands and not someone they pay to do it, that's pretty absurd. What matters is the produce itself, not who you hand the money to... that I'm afraid is what's supid. Buh-bye.
@Kristina-mm9ih3 жыл бұрын
@@marcjones2493 The entire idea of a FARMERS market is that the people who sell there grow it. MOST markets REQUIRE that of the people who sell, so YES super genius, they DO lie if they are asked, which is DISHONEST and WRONG. Do your research before you open your yapper about somebody's post. Thanks for the giggles. Have a good day.
