Thanks so much for this. I appreciate this a ton. And I agree- when I box, I'm never angry. I might start that way sometimes, but it always ends with elation. Boxing has been a great stress reliever, it helps me to focus, and it increases my confidence. When I do something physically strenuous, it unlocks all of the tension that builds up emotionally and mentally. Thanks again!

Thank you!!! I had to split the video into two sessions because my stamina isn’t there yet, but the way you explained was fantastic. the different positions I’ll be in and how to use the tools I have and the why and how. Before this video I had only been in the ring doing basic shadowboxing before this and I thought I would be fine, but I’m sure I wouldn’t be if I didn’t learn this stuff. I am so friggin excited to start sparring for the first time!!

Always good to go back to basics. I went back into the boxing gym briefly between lockdowns and did some padwork (with those long foam things, so we were distanced). It soon became apparent that I wasn't bringing my hands back to protect my head. Such is life without contact and/or mirrors.

I’m just a random dude. A lot of people google search liver punches in boxing 🥊. t’s not the jaw, it’s the brain ‘bouncing around in the skull.’ Striking the jaw acts as a lever to cause the ‘bounce.’ Here’s a clever, little trick. Practice with a tennis ball tucked under your chin. It keeps the chin low and somewhat out of the angle necessary when getting clocked. Further, and here’s the secret, it strengthens the neck muscles. If the neck muscles are strong the head won’t snap around sufficient to ‘bounce the brain.’ Check out guys who are hard to knock out. Chances are they have thick neck muscles, which keep the head from snapping back from the punch, which lessens the chance of ‘brain bounce.’ And please forgive the inaccuracy of the term ‘brain bounce,’ I just wanted to give an accurate picture of what happens when somebody smacks the chin correctly -Al Case, quora answers. Liver however, supports blood to many vessels and nerves making it one of the most critical organ during a intensive fight
