I played so many rounds in a row with a friend in June 2018, and Championship course Black Mountain, I think used on the European PGA Tour was the final stop in Hua Hin before we went to Kabin Buri Sport Club. It's rated quite highly in the world and we played off the low handicap tees at 7000 yards. The slope rating is 142 and the stroke rating is 73/74 or something. In this video we learn how to break 80 as well as how to break 75.
My editing software: www.jdoqocy.com...
rob mcgarr (scratch golf) referenced • HOW TO FIND YOUR NATUR...
When you have greens as pure as Black Mountain's, it's easier to make longer putts and the shorter putts hold the line
This is a rerelease of the same video from August 2018, but I've taken out the salty comments in the beginning of the video and added more birdie music!
This was the lowest score I had shot in recent memory after giving the game up a couple times over the last 15 years and after shooting under 70 when I was in my early 20s, this was the lowest score since getting back into golf in May 2017.
I may not have hit many fairways and may have hit very few greens, but my aiming on the approach shots was spot on and I played for the miss and played for my shot shape. Chipping and putting is of paramount importance in the 666 system of golf created by me.
You MUST start by learning how to get the ball into the hole, from close to the hole, then move further out and learn to chip, then move further out and learn to aim for the shot shape and toward the safest part of the green and away from the short side. Then move further back and learn to hit tee shots TO YOUR PREFERRED APPROACH DISTANCE.
This is the easiest system to follow and can reap great rewards. People poopoo the idea because they have a big ego. Stress free, high percentage, conscientious golf is ego-free. Big stick golf when you don't have a clue with the big stick and pin hunting golf when you don't have a short game are recipes for higher and higher scores.
From the dark end of the street, to the bright side of the road.

Yes playas, this is a rerelease. I took out the beginning because of the unnecessary intro which turned out to be a non-copyright free song, even though it was labelled as such. I took it own rather and rendered the video again in 50 fps so it looks nicer. I also added the birdie track to all birdies.

Hey Matt - excellent video as ever...I know I keep saying this, but you really are making a difference,...I played again today at the course I have just joined... it's damn hard and greens are currently pretty rubbish so three putts are normal two's are a bonus....but Iscored my best ever score there this morning....why? I was not trying to hit the driver too hard, and not reaching for the driver every tee...I was again working my pitching wedge from 120- to 30 yards with a big range of shots....and I was chipping like a "bause"......really happy......and I have one more round at a posh place this week, on Friday so if I take today's mental clarity with me it could be a banger...cheers!

Agreed. I played basketball in High School and College. I didn't learn the game by shooting 3 pointers. The coach who taught me when I was a boy first required us to shoot layups. Once we mastered layups, then we moved to shots from 5 -10 foot or so. Then shots from the free throw line, and so on. You get the drift. You start at the basket and move out from there. Its not sexy, but I am already too sexy for my bucket hats! :-) Keep up the good work man!

I remember in High School a buddy and I were on the Basketball team and we went out to the court before practice and started shooting from long distance and the coach reamed us out when he came out of the locker room. Made us run laps and do a bunch of layups.

Matt, I was wondering if golf holes being shorter than they say they are is world-wide or exclusive to my area. I've noticed this from my time at my local driving range, which I have confirmed the distances with Google Maps. At the driving range, I hit my 7 iron right on 160 yards. But on the course with both confirmation from the GPS app 18birdies as well as the yardages in the ground I easily hit a total distance of 180-190 yards ( And yes this is on straight holes without doglegs ). To get rid of any confusion in shot making I decided to get a rangefinder and indeed, on the course the total distance was normally about 170 (160 plus some roll). I was just wondering if you had noticed this or if it just a problem with golf courses in Southern USA.
@GolfSidekick
@GolfSidekick 5 жыл бұрын
Zachary Andrews Distances on scorecards are from a set marker which is usually next to the club tee up the middle of the fairway to the front or center of the green. Then the sprinklers and plates in the ground are to either the middle or front. It never quite works out exactly as we think. The rangefinder is the best way to determine the length and good on you for buying one. The scorecard length is not always what its playing and the pins are not always in the middle when they put the middle color on the stick. and the gps apps are not always measuring to the pin as thats impossible. They very often are to the middle of the green and sometimes they are at the back and front and sometimes nowhere even near the green lol I dont really worry too much about the length of holes. I shoot with the rangefinder to the 100 or 150 or 200 yard stake and then hit something off the tee that will get me to that point. I often dont look at scorecards and never trust sprinklers or 100 150 and 200 yard plates

Nick Russ Just always swing at 80% nowadays. I sometimes use too much when I am insecure about my swing or a club and that leaves me in trouble because I lose all rhythm. Rhythm is the key because a rhythmic 80% swing will go further than a non rhythmic 110% If i need another 5-10 yards on an iron I add power to 100% and if I need another 2-3 yards, add a draw movement.

Golf Sidekick You’re the best golf KZbinr and finest course strategist since that David Leadbetter fella’ I used to watch as a kid. Walking around Lake Nona with with a 10 handicapper (a hustler if ever there was one... soft spoken, hits it like a scratcher, but most likely the pro at one of the best courses in America) and talking him through each shot after first asking what the player was thinking what to do. It’s called- “David Leadbetter - Taking it to the course”. It’s obviously got to fulfil all the things he wants to cover in one 90 min video as they only had one video to get it all in, being pre internet KZbin, but it’s too scripted and over acted. The shots he let the guy do himself are done on purpose like a typical 10 handicapper to make a teachable moment. It is good for info but he isn’t entertaining enough by today’s standards. It’s like work, enjoyable work, but work all the same. It’s too serious and teaches how to play like, or think like more accurately, a tour pro. That’s blatantly not real world ,unless you’re one of those obsessive golfers that looks the part, talks the part, but can’t break 80 and never will. They’re frustrated but the club pro’s bread and butter. Amateur golf is about fun but this also gives you a chance of winning. Tour Pros even say after a great round how much they enjoyed it and how comfortable they were. Looks dated because it is not authentic. It’s useful but not fun. You are leading the way...Peter Finch and Rick Shiels try to be authentic but play the best courses in the world with the best players. This is not relatable. Your style, attitude and talent are. You bring both the authenticity and fun, too. That’s your USP! WhaddaYoutuba! 🎼 Daaah, dah, dah, dah, daah 🎼 🐥 ❓🎼🦅❓

Could you make a tutorial on how you hit solid irons ?
@GolfSidekick
@GolfSidekick 5 жыл бұрын
I will try but in the mean time just check out Robin Matthews Williams no look swing or walk-in shot. Also his 4 step swing. These are all great ways to strike a ball solid because it takes focus away from the ball and yoir fears and doubts My main tip for striking irons solid is to finish the swing. Just focus on getting the club to the end position That will make you swing through the ball instead of AT it. And if that doesnt help you, let your eyes wander to just in front of the ball and try to get the club at least through to that point an inch or two in front of the ball. The only reason you mis strike them is because yoir mind and ball connection is faulty. Too focused on hitting AT that silly ball

Golf Sidekick I hear you there, damn things are almost more trouble than they are worth. The reason I ask is that driver is unaccounted for on your table of "clubs used to shoot 73". I was a bit amazed you managed a 73 on a 7000+ yard course with no driver, although it was impressive nonetheless. I am trying to adopt a similar swing rhythm and your chipping and putting advise is the best I have come across. Cheers!

Christopher Gilbert I find drivers are the formula one cars of the golf club world. Fast and flashy and super sexy but not available to the common man. Its there to advertise the other stuff that company sells. Like a Ferrari in formula one is advertising to sell more Affordable cards through FIAT Chrysler. It would be a fun day if we had an international no driver day and see how everyone lowers their scores!

Golf Sidekick Truer words were never spoken. I hate to say it, but I had a driver on order and so had no driver to start the year and paired with your videos, it's the best I have played and the most confident I have felt about my game in over a decade. It's a total vanity club and may be best suited, at least for me, as a means of stress relief at the range. Quick question, I have now been in the market for a rangefinder, thanks to you suggestion; are you using it before every shot longer than a 30 yard chip? The prospect of adding such a time consuming step to the routine is causing me pause. It might be a worthwhile topic to cover in a short video. Thanks!🙏
@GolfSidekick
@GolfSidekick 5 жыл бұрын
I use it for every shot mainly because of needing the distance for my videos. With a bushnell, it adds literally 5 seconds to the process. No pacing no looking for sprinklers so it pretty much negates the expected delay. Best thing Ive bought in golf. Pullthe trigger, enjoy life
