So you can still see feelings as objects to solve.

Look at the part of the video where he's holding up the little white board. F is my last function, and to what little extent I do use it, I use it in an extroverted manner, which means I'm much more aware of other people's emotions than my own. 2. No. Knowing a fact and something making logical sense are different things. Emotions themselves are irrational. Here's a fact for you...did you know that the microbes that live in your gut can secrete chemicals that can effect your emotional state, in order to try to manipulate you into eating what they like? So therefore, LOGICALLY, if I don't want to be controlled by microorganisms, I shouldn't pay attention to emotions. 3. Wrong. There are sensory feelings and emotional feelings. I can "feel" cold. I can "feel" tired. I know you want the emotional kind and that's why I said you wouldn't be happy with my Se answer. BTW "happy" is also a "state"....feelings and states aren't mutually exclusive. Also, if I can be happy whether or not I'm hungry, then my emotional state is irrelevant in my decision about whether or not I am "on a diet" and had nothing to do with finding a solution. Feelings are not solvable. How do you solve happy? According to cognitive behavioral therapy theory, you can't change your feelings directly. You can change how you THINK about your feelings and/or you change what you are DOING that is effecting what you feel.

INTJ male here. Two of my favourite types, are ISTP and INFP. It's hilarious, and kind of sad; that they hate each other [at least, if they're anything like my super-ego, ISFJ]. I can see each winding up the other, as they really are polar opposites. I love both, for different reasons though. I've had more than one best friend of each type and was engaged to an INFP. I know the feelings are there with my ISFPs, that's what matters. And I've never met a dumb INFP, nor a dumb intuitive for that matter. Their Ne is like search radar, very powerful. It almost burns if it's on you. People think I'm selfish too (and I am, I have Fi child-and my Ni+Fi loop can make me almost as bad as an INFP with their Si supercharged [surely the ultimate supercharger for another function is Si] hero Fi). Just one of quite a few things we all have in common. ISFPs are so efficient. Nothing like me, lol. You have Ni child; so know how that can get, haha. As a function, it drinks time like the space shuttle drinks fuel and can only be used when introverting-I think that's unique amongst the functions. But it is powerful, if Ne's like search-radar, Ni is what guides the missiles to the target, an unbroken lock from launch 'till intercept. Maybe that's why you're so patient with our hero Ni, because you know it's demanding and the child function is always protected. I'm like that with my Fi. You look after your INTJs, I look after my INFPs. Thankfully, my parent Te saves me a bit there, as christ Fi wastes time. One thing I love about INFPs, is that I've never met one who isn't aspirational with their Te-they all look up to it, right from the start-which couldn't be more ideal. So many types take a lot longer before they treat their inferior as their aspirational [if ever]. Like, if an ESFP does that with their inferior Ni for example...we're done. They just don't respect iNtuition [plus they suck at it-which is the main language I speak]. It doesn't matter if a Sensor has intuition in their forth slot, but they have to at least respect it.

ISTPs are not "stalkerish" because they are the main types that don't like infringing on other people's personal space. Now "most curious" would probably be the best description for an ISTP personality type. Most people would believe that ISTPs are the most standoffish or aloof, but would agree that ISTPs are most definitely not the ones who would sneak around stalking folks. Every ISTP or ISTJ that I have an in depth conversation with, will pretty much say that they try not to interfere with other people's lifestyles. If your ISTP boss was studying the surveillance at work, then there was an issue he had to adress with the surveillance, or it was just so new that he wanted to be sure that he knew where everything was covered for the sake of future references because he knows that everyone else would be either too sorry to look or too carefree to look or they are the reasons why there has to be surveillance put up.

Totally agree, btw. This thing confused me in the video, too, because I tend to be even more sensitive about privacy matters than most private people I've ever met. Every time I was poking into "someone's" business was, indeed, a _business_ matter, no emotions or relationship involved. The reason I dislike people incapable of separating personal and business matters, actually - they just take your business poking as something personal and get offended and impossible to work with. It's really like changing hats. Right now you are a specialist working with some mechanism and other specialists who are responsible for it, and the next second, after the problem had been solved, you are just a guy and you can't just intrude on their personal space. ISTP female here, but I believe I'm more mature in my typing than most. I like my alone time too much to care what other people are doing while they work. Definitely not shallow in the slightest. I've read enough books, been around all types of people, to know the cover doesn't mean shit. I've been told I'm an old soul, which is probably why I type as ISTP. I have experience and know who I am as a person to be guilted into any act I don't see logical for myself, as you say my "stupid zoning" is too strong to allow it. Being able to look at a situation and see every detailed problem sends instant red flags in my mind so I can tell when someone isn't truthful. Perhaps I just have a strong intuition, mixed with my type which makes it physically impossible to do the wrong thing sometimes. Or allow it around me. Figuring out the proper way to teach, I don't push anyone to do anything. I show people various ways to work and tell them to do what works best for them. As we all learn differently, I don't care as long as the person gets the concept and comes to the same conclusion. It would be too illogical in my mind to ignore that other people are more qualified to identify what is wrong with me physically to never see a doctor about a hindering condition. I believe I have a great long term memory because I value the small circle of relationships I have. It's so rare to find something of interest to me when I do find it I hold on to it and do everything I can to ensure it's security in my mind. I do have one really great friend who understands my decisions need to be presented in a sort of, tree, branching so to say. So, he doesn't ask me what I want to eat he ask hot or cold? Sweet or salty? Which is what I value so much in this person. They don't ask how I am either, they ask what have I been doing? Very much to the point and me being me, I'm always doing something. If you ever want to silence an ISTP, ask them how they feel. Don't know, don't care, I can't compute. I have suffered from depression and anxiety my entire life and even with this I simply state, "I never know how to answer that question." when asked or when I'm feeling conversational I say, "I woke up, not everyone else does so I can't complain." 😅

ISTP female, been waiting for this anxiously. Grateful for your work. Couple of thoughts 1) shallow - don't know about that one. For me it is the logical thing to believe more in what a Harvard professor says than some community college teacher. It's a matter of what are the statistical chances the latter is right? It isn't impossible just unlikely. So I disagree that that is shallowness. It is being critical about the source. #fakenews #callmestubborn 2) The main thing to convince me is deliver the facts. And then don't ask me if you where right. I can't handle it. You be gracious about it and I will act like you are right. That's a massive win. 3) In your example, another effective application of "choice" would have been to point out all the freedom and choice the ISTP loses if they lose their leg. Like your grandpa not being able to work on his land anymore. Not being able to hike or skydive or travel or... chase a squirrel or whatever. The reasons I don't go to hospital are 1) stupid zoning doctors 2) doing my own research using credible sources 3) if you tie me into a hospital bed I am gonna die because of boredom and loss of freedom so I'd rather spend my remaining days chasing squirrels of my choice. Oh and then I would jump off some cliff because I am not afraid of death but of ongoing pain and of being a burden. 4) I am "humble" because I know the insignificance of myself in the universe of endless knowledge and skill. It is not being humble to me - it is taking the realistic perspective on myself. 5) ENFPs and ENFJs make me extremely suspicious about their intentions. I feel like they are manipulative as hell but I never know what they are actually trying to achieve. #NeTrickster 6) I'm married to an ESTJ. #goldenpair The beauty is in social engineering Ni > Ne - no? Lastly I would really like a deep dive for ISTP (and all other types) on the diffence in male and female.

As an ENFP male I can tell you that we come off as manipulative due to the fact that we are trying so hard to build an intimate relationship/friendship with you. But not just bc of your type. We do this with any type. It’s just our natural urge to deeply connect with people and bc we do this by using emotion and emotions are a no no, for ISTPs, I can see where your mistrust is coming from. But other than that we are not trying to harm you. This video starts off relating the story of what seems to be corporate espionage and infiltration by hiring a profesional manipulator. But in rl scenarios an ENFP just wants to connect on a deeper level with you just for the sake of friendship or romanticism as the only gain.

@@crystalwaters8714 it might be something you have to experience, but maybe if you read about it to death, or observe scumbags doing it to others, maybe you can experience it through the others and learn that way. Things to research- love bombing, trauma bonding, signs of narcissists or dark triad, signs of manipulation. There are different kinds of narcissists (covert ones can be really sneaky). And pay attention to your gut instincts, keep tabs on what people say and do and if they match and if it’s consistent over time. I found with narcissists, once I return their sentiment of “I love you,” they change and become like a monster. They also use your vulnerabilities against you to put you down emotionally. If you find yourself confused, step back and think about everything. Don’t trust your feelings. Trust your logic. You can also ask a bunch of questions in the beginning, write down what they said. And ask them again in a different way a few weeks later and see if the answers match.

Every debit-card transaction popped up on his screen, so he could tell where i was at any given moment, and exactly what i was spending.... ISTP female here. I've been so pleasantly surprised by the accuracy your content, until you threw out that whole "I'm the smartest person here, and too prideful to ask for help" (11:10). Here's my own thinking of the matter: While we can come off as too full-of-ourselves, there's more to it than that. We engineer our life for teaching others because it fulfills our purpose. Not in a broad sense, but in subjects that pique our interests. It's impossibly difficult to reverse those roles when you need help and you don't want to be a burden. Weakness and showing vulnerability are also not socially accepted traits when you are an ISTP.

I know you don`t like Socionics, but the reason why ISTPs get taken advantage off by ENFPs is that the ISTP`s dual is the ENFJ, so the ISTP is looking for that Fe and I would say ENFPs are better at "portraying" that Fe than real ENFJs. The ISTP and ENFP are conflicting types, so unlike an ISTJ who would be able to to put the ENFP in his place and have a good relationship with, the ISTP will always get the bad end of the deal, since they don`t understand real Fe vs portrayal Fe. There are several stories about this relationship in socionics studies, specially on the russian and croatian websites/youtube channels.
