My testimony is that sometimes doing things the right way and processing an annulment turns out to be the best decision of your life! It took around 5 years and about 230k pesos but I have never been happier in my life after four years of marriage. When a Filipina is looking for a second chance in life, love devotion and loyalty are unquestionable if you are willing to take a chance sometimes. Good luck!

The need for more divorces or easier divorces is a sign that the West is firmly seated in the Philippines. Granted, outlawing divorces just hides and covers up the fact of all the failed marriages. But suing for easier divorce just mean the Philippines is not an Eastern culture [anymore], but in fact just another Western culture.

Not all individuals do their homework. When you put your opinion out to the general public, be prepared for those who have selective hearing. You make it a point to try and inform and inform what life, dating, your legal rights, and living conditions are with your filipina. Keep up the good work. There are those of us who appreciate and expect the honesty you give on your pod cast. Keep it up as those nasty remarks are from those who will get caught up in what you are trying to help them avoid. Only when they learn the hard way, will they open their eyes.

Hope all you unsuspecting would be travelers to the Philippines listened closely to what Pea had to say. As a foreigner, you are automatically seen as rich. Don't be surprised if the husband that hasn't been seen for five years suddenly shows up wanting you to pay him off. There is something called the "bamboo telegraph" in the Philippines. News travels fast there. Filipinos are one of the most connected cultures I have experienced. Word of a foreigner dating his estranged wife will reach the husband very quickly. The Embassy will not be able to get you out of jail if charges are pressed for adultery. You have been warned.

Seen as? Lol, I AM rich. And not particularly law abiding. Also, twice the size of the other man. Where did you get the idea that a foreign embassy does a damn thing. Being friends with the police, judges, mayor etc. You think these people will lift a finger because some piece of garbage strung out on Meth complains I am poking the wife he abandoned? Let me tell you how that ends. The REALITY of it. It ends with him being found dead in an ally with duct tape around his head. Just like thousands and thousands of others who make trouble. Phils is NOT the United States. It's not corrupt exactly (its not Thailand) but justice is not blind either. Sides are taken based on how important you are to specific people. In other words, the right friends keep you out of jail. Which is why if you travel there you should either 1) stay in the resort areas and never leave or 2) make it a point become tight with business leaders, those in power, police, judges and yes, local gangs. And for good measure a few Magnakulem.

@@TheFilipinaPea Angry and crazy are not related. That very much is the point of marrying a girl from Phils. If a woman is angry, that is easily handled with honesty, trust and respect. If a woman is crazy, she does bad things at random and the faster you get rid of her the better. If someone is on the roof of your car going at it with an axe, a pause might be necessary. Is she right to do that? Did you do something unacceptable as a man.

I met a separated Filipina and did not know the cost and hassle of an annulment until I was involved. It is not as easy as a western divorce., as I assumed it would be. It is NOT worth the hassle even if the lady is good and upfront saying she needs an annulment. Bribes can be involved, psychiatric fees to justify the annulment, etc. Stick to single women!

There are a lot of married woman who've been living singly for years and rhey were not able to work out for annulment for some are working abroad and didn't get the time to go Phil's and file in court..And not all who have a relationship with foreigners will be in jail coz most likely it's the husband who are leaving their wives for another woman..Its so unfair if you're just giving the singles the right to have relationships because you don't know there are also singles who have multiple boyfriends have many mobiles and they bring the mobile where their other boyfriend have no number amd here comes married woman who are left by their husbands for another woman are faithful and true to their new relationships you will not give them the chance to be happy..Even if it involves money what is money afterall if both people

Something I found out last year is that a Filipina can file for divorce in another country (as long as they're a resident) and usually it will be granted (here in Australia specifically), BUT it won't be recognised in the Philippines. From the other side of the coin, a foreigner can get a divorce in their home country (or anywhere except the Philippines or the Vatican) and it will be recognised in the Philippines.

I began my Philippines adventure in 2007 and found a very nice older, married yet separated Filipina with four positively kids. We stayed in the relationship for about seven years while I tried every conceivable method both within Philippine law and outside of Philippine law to get her free of her husband. I finally realized I was beating my head against a wall in trying to get around Philippines family code and ended up having to terminate the relationship as I knew it was going nowhere. A lot of people were heartbroken, including myself.

@williamjones4483
@williamjones4483 2 жыл бұрын
@@007NateNasty No, but as Filipina Pea pointed out, it is quite expensive, can take a very long time and is not guaranteed. If the other spouse opposes the annulment then there is another monkey wrench in the works. Typically only the rich and powerful are able to secure annulments in the Philippines. Another item to mention there is government lawyer vs. private lawyer. While a government lawyer will be less expensive it will take much longer. If you can afford a private lawyer then the process is faster but still not guaranteed. If you ever get a chance I highly recommend you read The Family Code of the Philippines.

My ex advertised she was a widow on the date site. I went to the Phills to meet her after six months of chatting. I asked her what happened to her husband, and she told he died from alcoholism. I was very naïve at that time and totally trusted her so I didn't ask any more questions. I actually went there to see her twice. Not one person in her family ever told me the truth. They All held her secret. I found about him being very much alive after he contacted me threating to kill me if I ever went back there again to be with her. They had been separated for years but that didn't matter to him. She really is a good woman, just not wise enough to be open with me from the start and that really hurt. I almost fell into a similar trap some years ago, not in the Philippines, but in the U.S. She acted single until I accidentally saw her with a guy she admitted to be her husband. Apparently married in the Philippines. She lied to him too. Good thing it was not too late to get away.

Some married Filipina desperately want a second chance. They were used and abused and left behind often with children many times through no fault of their own. If you find the right one you can be their knight in shining armor who rescues them and they will never forget that. I personally think that there is a much greater risk to your happiness if you date a young single Filipina who doesn’t yet know what she wants in life. After she is attached to you (and your money), she may seek happiness elsewhere.

Let’s not hold one’s breath the Philippines legislators will do the right thing here. I was flying to Cebu in 2011 and the big news story on the Philippine newspaper provided for us to read on the Manila to Lapu Lapu was that Malta make divorce legal leaving the Philippines the only nation outside of Vatican City where divorce was still not legal. And all the talk was the need to pass a similar law in the Philippines. In the ten years since? A big fat nothing has happened. And anyone hoping for it to happen consider these two sad facts. Divorce being illegal isn’t just a law to be changed, but an amendment to the Philippine Constitution where the law is enshrined. One thinks passing an amendment in the U.S. was hard, try getting the Philippine legislature to do it. Secondly the Catholic Church in the Philippines has fought this tooth and nail. They have even ignored Pope Francis’ call for an easement of the rules for annulments. As long as politicians in the Philippines legislature suck up to the Church for votes, they won’t give women in broken and abusive marriages the freedom they need.

While I do feel empathy for people in abusive relationships ( very much including men being the abused). Divorce is not the answer. It ruined the west an will ruin any country that allows it, especially when the cancer of feminism takes root. I could go on but shall I refrain.

The brochure seems nice but that's not how nature works. How likely is a hot young lady to fall passionately in love with a middle aged foreign man? Nature is that which selects. No female anywhere in the world will have the hots (a necessity for romantic love - see Sternberg's triangle) for a low SMV male. Numerous studies have proven this. She is only pretending to love (a scam) so she can get something. Typically, it's to save her family from poverty. Peace.

I’ve long ago red-pilled myself to avoid anyone in a relationship, let alone anyone married who perhaps flirts with me to “start going down that road”. It’s better not to get sucked into an emotional relationship to begin with. Not only Filipinas but with ANY women in which obvious detriments and end game destructiveness override any “benefits”. As you said Pea, using our “big head” rather than pandering to the groin head has a far better outcome. No need for my life to be destroyed, nor do I desire to enmesh myself to unwittingly bring harm to someone else. Glad that I’m single and not “dating” around at 49. Good riddance!

Lol! Great skit at the end! I met my Filipina online in Feb. 2020 just before the pandemic happened and we have been talking pretty much every day since that day. I was hoping to visit and meet in person at some point this year by now, but this craziness with the lockdowns is putting us much further behind with finally meeting in person instead of voice, video, and texts. I am in no rush what so ever to be sure things are right with us and she has fully understood it all as well and with me not being able to travel as of yet too. From the things that she always shares from pictures and videos from her days and what she has ensured me of not being married before and everything else, she is definitely the more rare type and committed. Believe me, I had already asked some of those questions and been so upfront with her from the beginning to be so sure myself and we are on the same page. She does have a young daughter as most in their early 30s probably do have at least one kid. She had her when she was 20 and her boyfriend at that time was one of those who ran off and she has never seen him again and her daughter knows nothing of him or has had that father figure in her life yet. So so sad! I love my future beautiful little family. I am 37, also unmarried with no baggage and she is 32.

I would say that the most important thing for a foreign man visiting a Filipina girlfriend is for him to make sure that he knows as much about her as possible. There are some Filipinas who will hide their children in their province with their parents while they visit the foreign man in the city. A foreign man may not know that she has a family secretly and if he starts a relationship with her then he opens himself up to the possibility of problems and issues with her secret boyfriend/husband.

You are head on again, Pea! I have a Belgian friend, quite a bit older than me, who went through the process op getting an annulment for the Filipina he wanted to marry. Not only did the law case cost a lot of money, he also had to pay off the pinoy husband. As soon as her marriage was annulled, he threw a big wedding party which I attended with my ex. In the years that followed, this highly salaried Belgian spoiled his wife rotten. Everything she wanted, he gave her, including a whole collection of LV bags. He was 30 years her senior and when he started ageing (and maybe some of his body parts too - who will tell?) she found herself a German who is still a lot richer, but also much younger. Conclusion: It's OK to start a relationship with a Filipina, but do it with both eyes open (and even then, nothing is sure)!
