Thank you so much for showing us the details step by step. I did sprout some years ago but he said to change the water daily and didn't say have to drain the water, so I let them soaked in the fresh water daily and all rot on the 3rd day. I will sprout it when I buy the soy beans. Thank you so much !

Khang, many thanks for your sharing this with us. I always buy soybean sprouts and now I am encouraged to try. If I don't get the colander like the one you showed, can you tell me an alternative which you think will work best for soybean sprouts? With many thanks, Christy.
@KhangStarr9 жыл бұрын
+Christy Lim Any two piece colander will work. You can find them at any Asian supermarket. If one is not available, you can find them at target. Get one with smaller holes. With smaller holes, there is no need for paper towel because the beans will not fall through.

The regular soybeans works just as well, and they taste great and are just slightly larger than the sprouting soy beans which are a little smaller in diameter and develop to just slightly larger than mung bean sprouts. The regular soybeans has a nice chunky crunch kinda like boiled adamame beans but with a sprouted tail.

Hi! Can I obtain more seeds from the sprouted soybeans to make more?
@oldspiced12 күн бұрын
you would have to grow them to full maturity , like in a garden etc- it probably would be a fun experiment but it would be easier to just buy the beans as you would need a huge garden full of them to get enough to eat regularly as sprouts and not run out.

Hi khang, I know this isn't related but could you answer a question of mine. You use hydroponic nutrients on your chillies and in one video you said you give them hydroponic nutrients every two days even though most hydroponic nutrients say to give hydroponic nutrients every 1-week or 2-week, Is there any reason for that? You have inspired me to grow chillies of my own I changed my settings Hopefully you can reply
@KhangStarr9 жыл бұрын
Adrian Di Ubaldo Yes, the reason for that is because I feed them very little at a time from the bottom using a two cups method. If you follow my 2015 Super Hot videos, I covered my entire process with great results.

I've been doing your bean sprout method with great results.I think I try this too! Do you let the soy sprouts grow longer or do they taste better shorter?

BackTo Basics I like them short, around day 3-5. They grow fast and get a little tough if you let them go past day 6. Also, after day 6, their roots grow like crazy.

Hello Khang . My sprouting attempt has failed . I have precisely followed all the steps from your tutorial , however on the second day I got smelly and rotten beans. I wonder why as I have not even over soaked them. Do you have any idea how to fix those troubleshooting? Thank you !
@KhangStarr9 жыл бұрын
+Ben warnick It's pretty difficult to over soaked unless you leave them submerged for a few days. Are you seeds labeled "for sprouting"? If not, those beans may have been heat treated and will not grow. Dead seeds will result in a bad smell.

Hi Kheng What type of peas or beans do they use to sprout the Chinese Dou Miao(pea sprouts)? It has to be the ones with large stems and big leaves, just like the ones from china used in restaurants.
@anonymous-zn5em7 жыл бұрын
The pea shoots used in Chinese cooking are not actual seed sprouts, they are the young growing tips of pea vines that are harvested especially to cook with, but I'm sure sprouted peas could be used the same way, only they won't have the big leaves and pretty tendrils. Hope that helps.

They can be eaten raw in a cold salad dish or in cooked meals also. In a cooked dish they should be put in just before the dish is served to retain the fresh crispness of the sprouts.
