There are several reasons for knee pain, but from time and time again I see knee pain from tight overused quad muscles, ESPECIALLY the lateralis. Make sure to foam out the tfl (NOT THE IT BAND), because the tfl can put additional stiffness on the lateralis. Just foaming out in general is so overlooked in fitness. If you go hard on the body, you need to do maintenance also. Not just good sleep hygiene and food, but making sure the body is aligned and preventing stiffness in the muscles from overuse.

I’m grateful to not be lacking for motivation at the moment, but this is a great video and I’m sure I’ll be coming back to it.

I basically treat weightlifting as a second job, especially as a masters class weightlifter. High priorities on sleep and nutrition at a cost of most of my social life. But I don't think I've ever been so motivated or focused in my life.

I think both in this video and in your "RELAX" video the theme is similiar and misses a crucial point: Community. If you are not a professional athlete and you are doing this for fun, the fun part of progression will end at some point. What keeps it still a lot fun is the people you do it with, which is something highly neurotic and perfectionistic type weightlifters need to learn. Crossfit's best side is also this community feeling, and having comrades in this journey. Still a great analysis, just wanted to add this point because everything is super, hyper individualistic these days...

This is precisely why I am losing motivation. I began another sport for my high school recently and have seen that training doesn't have to be a lonely thing, but the unfortunate side effect of that is that I find it much harder to get myself to go to the gym. Why train alone for 2 hours bashing your head against a wall, only really seeing progress once every few months, when you can train a sport and not necessarily see progress but at the same time hang out with a bunch of friends for a couple of hours every day.

I’m at a crest in the various waves of my training, and I was just mentioning to someone today that I would much rather take a nap than go to the gym

Just to add a small idea to the points made in this video - I feel like it's important to distinguish between what is motivation (and where it is useful), and what is a habit (and there it is useful). Motivation is great at getting you to work harder in the short-term, but if you rely on motivation to train you will never be consistent. What makes you good over years of training are good habits. Good habits make you able to train even when you have no motivation to do it. Yes, you won't be as hyped as when you are motivated, but you will still get the work done and it will support yout future efforts. In my view, good training habits are the foundation of good results, and motivation is a bonus which you should embrace when you find it, but not be dependent on.

That is the only problem I never have ,, I literally love to train , but I add more stuff on training besides regular olympic lift , I squeeze some bench press there our a few punching bag rounds , plus and a bit maniac if I can't get a perfect lift I won't leave the gym that day till i get it that keep me hungry ...

The journey is the destination, man. I feel that unless you're trying to become an olympic lifter, there's no point in olympic lifting big weights. Just get really good at a movement at a comfortable weight that's not too light, and just perfect it. Add a 5lb a month at most, but do add weight over time. Instead of trying to lift more weight, just try to move faster with the weights that you already do move.
