I'm 63 and came across this video a while ago. I have very wavy, somewhat curly hair that always looks dry and frizzy. A few months ago I decided to try the Living Proof products, starting with shampoo and conditioner. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, MY HAIR ACTUALLY LOOKS HEALTHY, SHINY AND SMOOTH. Next step was using the other hair product, same result. I finally tried the hair blowing technique last week and IT WORKS just as demonstrated! I went out and bought the smaller size brush as the small round brush I had was just a tad too small. I have had so many compliments on my hair!!!! MY HAIR STYLIST EVEN COMMENTED ON HOW MUCH SHE LIKED IT AND HOW GOOD IT LOOKED! THANK YOU< THANK YOU< THANK YOU - for those of you who said they didn't think they could do it for whatever reason - TRY IT, it's worth the effort and actually does not take that long and by the way, I was able to go almost 7 days without washing my hair which adds to its health. It still looks fine after 7 days. Living proof also has dry shampoo if you prefer to "wash it" between wet washes. If I can do it, anyone can! Good Luck and thank you Dominique!

I have just binge watched a lot of your videos! you are such a sweetheart. my mom passed away almost two years ago in a car accident, and somehow when I stumbled across your video, you sounded just like her. I think thats one of the hardest things when someone we love passes, is not hearing their voice anymore. At first I just closed my eyes and listened while you talked. Then I realized that you were talking about hair, makeup and life lessons...all things my mom did. thank you so much for your time, and effort that goes into your videos.

When you said about not hearing your mom's voice anymore it's something I never thought of, and that you close your eyes and just listen to and she sounds like your mom , that's so nice. wow my God the tears are running down my face. But God love you! and I'm glad you have this classy lady here that sounds like your mom, I came across her video by accident and that's what sucked me in right away is her voice and the way that she speaks. She explains things so well, I'm a retired hairdresser get I enjoy listening to her explaining and demonstrating the techniques so well. she's fantastic oh, what a talent!

I just happened to come across this video the other day. I'm 65 and a child of the 60s and 70s. I did try this blowout technique and it will take some practice. I have very fine, wavy hair...and a lot of it. I love the products with the exception of the Amp cream. Made my hair a feel a little sticky, but maybe I used too much. It looks great with the side-swept bangs. Thanks (from us older gals). :)

This is hands down, the best tutorial video on doing a sweeping side fringe (what we call 'bangs' downunder!) that I've seen yet. Thank-you! I can do a really good blow out at home, but it was my sweeping side fringe that always let me down - now I know why. I left it til last and was going about it the same way as I did the rest of my head. Its a good thing I'm a blonde LOL - it gives me the excuse for butchering my fringe all this time. Thanks again!!

You always have some of the best things in your video and I'm a license hair cosmetologist and I have been talking to people that want to grow there hair out and not cut off what's wanted !! So I totally agree with you on the way you did your bangs your technic is exactly what I do and have for yrs....alot of people think under blowing it will side swept your bangs.... funny thing you are the only one who is correct and tells excatly what you need and want to know about your bangs and going under is always what people have done and that's wrong well not wrong but not what your looking for if you want to have the swept over bang..so i appreciate your honesty and everything about you your a beautiful woman and I love the way you are every time you post a video it's always a new refreshing journey with you and I appreciate it more than you know....I've been watching your videos for about a yr now and they never get old always feel like there's a new thing to learn with watching them... I have had side swept bangs for over a decade and, sadly, they were only ever "swept" one day per cut because my stylist is the only one who's ever styled this hair who can do it lol I've spent an entire decade trying to replicate her actions, using every possible tool and product out there, to no avail. Who would have thought that the entire time the solution was just rolling the brush over instead of under! 😳 My stylist always went under, so of course I went under. Never would've thought to try changing directions! Thank you so much, your simple tip has unlocked a decade of mystery!

Thanks for this video! To be honest, I didn't think too much of it at first, but I tried some of the tips one day last week and actually got compliments on my hair that day. I have a rather high forehead and could use the coverage that bangs can provide, but my hair is pretty thin and has a bit if a cowlick to deal with on one side. Apparently, sideswept bangs are just what I need! I haven't tried doing it again since as I just haven't had the time to fuss with them, but I plan to practice and learn to do them a bit more quickly. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for actually showing us how to do this instead of pushing some brand name product that you're selling. Its actually quite refreshing to see what you're doing and how you're doing it without it becoming an infomercial. By the way - You're beautiful and an excellent teacher. Thanks again. THIS I can do. :)

Great video! May I just say the best hair advice I've ever received is in this video! I have NEVER been able to style my bangs quite right. They look "okay" but not as good as I'd like it to be. Well, last night, I watched this video and you said to style your bangs first. I've never done that before. I have this weird bend in my bangs that will not bow to anyone...until today. This morning, I styled my bangs first and it came out great! Thank you so much for this advice! Can't wait to see more of your videos! (I'm a first time viewer! Now a subscriber!)

Gorgeous! Can’t wait to try it tomorrow. I have a very similar cut which is growing out now and was wondering how to improve my style. Thank you.

Dominique, This comment is years old. However, I felt compelled to acknowledge your professional manner and sage advice.. Thank you for providing your video on blowing out side swept bangs. It was great, informative, and pretty simple to follow.

I love this tutorial. Like you, I have natural wavy/curly hair and this is such a nice way to dry and style without using a flat iron. I love the volume. Thanks Dominique!

I just keep a small water spray bottle nearby. I do my bangs last, but re-wet them roots to ends first, then dry them. This is my "finishing touch," as I style my bangs according to how the rest of my hair comes out. :)

+another prop Yea, another way to do it ... this is how I do mine too ... plus I also keep a small spray bottle of water as well while I style my hair. :)

Hi Dominique! I've just hit 65 and came across your channel when my husband remarked when approaching me from behind (he's 8 yrs older with A LOT of gray hair - no baldness, slightly receding hairline)- Oh! You have a bald spot at the top of your head!). I ran in the bathroom and immediately cut a "layer" to cover it. BIG MISTAKE. Went to my stylist who saved me by cutting all my hair (which is usually a shoulder length 2 layer bob - natural blonde, thin straight, but a lot of it - I have white as snow skin - think Nicole Kidman. He cut it into a style just like yours! I'm the opposite of you in coloring and hair texture but have used the same products! I think you are stunningly gorgeous and love you with short hair rather than longer. I now can't decide weather to grow mine out or cut it -I've had a lot of positive feedback from men w this hair cut. All I know is I love it on you!

I am so excited I came across your video. It gave me so many styling tips all the way around. I have baby fine hair and it can be quite unruly and difficult to manage. ALL the tips you showed and the very defined way you explained how to do things was so very helpful. It has always taken me around 30 minutes to blow dry my hair, but since using all the helpful tips I can now be through in half the time from start to finish. Also, the tips you gave on the bangs was a biggie for me as I do like a side-swept bang or some type of textured look because I have a broad forehead. The tips you gave on the type of brush/brushes was also a biggie because I had been using the same brush which did not have lots of bristles, more like a vent brush. I purchased two different sized brushes such as the ones you used in this video~~I absolutely could not believe the difference it made in giving my hair lots of volume and a clean, smooth finish. Now I don't have to wash and dry my hair every single day. Most of the time I can go every other day and sometimes maybe even the third day before having to completely do the whole wash, dry, and style. Thank you so much. I also compliment you on how well you presented your video. You were very thorough in every aspect, and I think~~at least for me~~little small details make a big difference.

Thank you SO much!! I have been needing a flat iron for years to tame my hair and after following your advice in this video, my hair looks fantastic without a flat iron!! Maybe now it can get healthier without all that direct heat every day!! 😘
