First off love your hair tutorials. THANK YOU - you have literally changed my life; and I am not being vivacious. After watching this video about 2 weeks ago. I am enjoying more time in the mornings, not wasting so much time on multiple useless gadgets and substandard products. You are not kidding around when you say Kenra 25 is amazing. I use way less of it and it holds like no spray has ever worked for me before. I have stopped playing with my hair and I am on day 3 and loving my hair. Since I do have more time in the morning I have started eating breakfast at home. I have saved over 25$ (cost of the hair spray) and have lost 4 lbs by not eating fast food. THANK YOU !!!! I have told so many people about your videos - please keep them coming.

Love the tutorial, "Not touching your hair" helps to maintain style the next day. So does a satin bonnet or pillow case. The fabric is smooth so it doesn't pull on the hairs and cause breakage like cotton. Bonnets have really helped me with 3 to 4 day hair since I'm naturally curly.

Dominique-you have helped me embrace beauty again!! What fun I am having buying products you have suggested and doing just a few extra things for HUGE results!!! I am getting so many compliments-"you look younger, your hair looks great"-do you know what the best advise so far you gave me-those velcro rollers!!!! I have shoulder length red curley hair that has its own mind-now that I use the products + blow dry + rollers-UNBELIEVABLE results!!!! People respond to me differently when I take a little extra time and enhance what I have. Thank you for being a true friend for all women. You are stunningly beautiful but your kindness and desire to help us realize our own beauty is what makes you shine. THANK YOU DOMINIQUE!!

Dominique, I must say "Thank You" from a fellow Texan, born in San Antonio. At the age of 13, my family moved to Phoenix where I grew up; and while I was married, I lived in Los Angeles. I'm back in Phoenix now where the weather is a lot more "hair-friendly"...not as humid as Houston! I have to thank a cousin of mine in San Antonio for sharing your KZbin video on "Styling Tips For Second & Third Day Hair." I'd like you to know how informative, helpful and appreciated your efforts are. Not only are you BEAUTIFUL on the outside, but your inner beauty shines even more brightly. I hold you on a pedestal for your undying UNSELFISHNESS. It's a real shame that more women don't realize the REAL SECRET to REAL BEAUTY. You are a gift to the world! Thank you for ALL you do for the world! I would like to ask you one question: I looked up all the products you mentioned: Got 2B Fat-tastic Mousse, KENRA Volume 25 hair spray, and AMP Root Lift for styling. I searched for the products online and was able to find the first 2; however, I'm having trouble identifying the brand name of the AMP Root Lift for styling. Will you kindly reply to my request with the brand name and possibly where I can purchase it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
@dominiquesachsetv9 жыл бұрын
Annette Austin Annette, your note really touched me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I'm humbled by them. Regarding your question, the AMP root lift is by Living Proof. They sell it in Ulta, as well as the Kenra. I get the mousse at Walgreens. I hope you enjoy these products as much as I do. Blessings to you ....

I just subbed and found your channel yesterday. I've been enjoying catching up. I am 52 now and I sooooo agree about the washing of hair. I made a comment about the same on another 50 something's blog who washes every day and she basically told me my hair had to smell and that she was a cosmetologist and knew it was unhealthy. I just find it refreshing that someone else follows the same views. As we get older we don't need to wash every single day. Our scalp health is not going to deterioriate if we go 3 days. I have a longer bob now but not as many layers and really is challenging to blow it dry and look styled. I used hot rollers for years. Actually getting out of that as much. I love your shorter hair with layers. I really never thought about using the blow dryer on the 2nd or 3rd day again. I will try that for sure.
@dominiquesachsetv9 жыл бұрын
+Jennifer Ann Fox (Feathers in the Nest) I hear ya! I have to use the dryer because if humidity gets a hold of my hair, it starts to kink and I need to smooth it out. It also provides that post-salon bounce again. So glad you found the video helpful, Jennifer :)

I appreciate all your tutorials. I also go as many days as possible w/o shampooing and love WEN cleansing conditioner. The lavender is my go-to for volume, but occasionally I mix w/tea tree oil. I love the Replenishing Treatment Mist also by WEN for helping that 2nd, 3rd, and yes 4th day style. I've found QVC to have the best price for WEN & most choices. I caution when you try WEN to make sure you use enough product and mix water gradually w/it to create an almost lather & a better final result. Thanks again Dominique...you're the best!

You can add essential oils such as bergamot or cedar or tea tree. Apply on the scalp and rub in a good hair roots, wash off after 1-2 hours initially conditioner then shampoo 2-3 times. I dry my hair without hair dryer a natural way! But it's time for a change! Take the curlers,curling iron and more! Again thank you! New subscriber from Tel-Aviv,Israel

Dominique thank you so much for these great videos! I just love watching them and you. Not only are you articulate but you are so down to earth. I am 61 years old and a very low maintenance girl who never wore any makeup besides lipstick and mascara growing up but now since menopause I find I have to wear blush, lipstick, mascara and lol fill in my eyebrows! My hair is also so much coarser and thinner and being a tomboy and outdoor enthusiast my hair is always sweaty from gardening or hiking and living in Arizona we perspire a lot so of course my hair is always wet. I don't always wash my hair but every third day unless of course it is way to wet after hiking then I will wash it. I also just hate blowing out my hair I'm not very good at it but I am going to try those products that you are using and see how I do. Thanks so much for helping us "not so girlie girls" out in the hair and makeup department.

At home today minus hubby/teens. Thought I'd give your smokey eye tutorial and Velcro rollers tips a try (on my 2nd day hair). OMG!! Your tricks have transformed this 40-something mother of two!! Seriously, my husband is going to have to take me somewhere tonight (even if it's just an HEB date for groceries!) because I look just too good to stay at home! LOL! My Velcro rollers have been sitting in a bag in my bathroom cabinet for three years. I always made the mistake of trying to use them on freshly washed hair. I never got the results I wanted and figured this was just another waste of money. And all those years of believing the "experts" when they said dark liner on the waterlines after 40 is a no-no. My eyes look fabulous!! My 15 year old daughter can't believe the transformation. THANK YOU, Dominique!! Loving all your videos!!

Also, it's so nice to hear an intelligent, educated, well-spoken woman on you tube. Some sound like absolute messes.

I had no idea you were a news anchor, but Houston is lucky to have such a fun personality to watch!! I really love your hair tutorials, and I too, battle frizz here in Chicago.

Thank you for your response!! I've never used Velcro rollers, so I think I'm going to try. If you haven't done a video for doing your hair starting at day one, would you please consider doing a video like that; including all products used.? It would be nice to see someone do that for once!! Thanks xo

I am a hair stylist and I like your daily routine with your hair. You show us that to look good it means, you have to do something. Often it is hard work but it is every second worth:-) You are my Hero of the day:-)

I too love your hair tutorials. my comment is that I have a semi-bob/pixie, but also natural curl, wave and to top it off several cowlicks in and around the crown and back. Makes for great bedhead hair. Don't know if I can pull off some of your styles, but will try especially the hair drying for day 2 or 3 hair.

Dominique - thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. I have a new-ish short do and am still figuring out how to style it. I don't want to wash it even every other day so your news about day 3 and 4 is so appreciated. I picked up a sticky mousse at Walgreens before I listened to the products you use and now I'll be purchasing the got2be fat-tastic. I can do this, too!!

Hello Beautiful! I recently found your hair tutorials as I am considering going shorter and sleeker, for a more polished, professional look (and less messy mom - lol). I just love your dos and am now trying to decide between a pixie or a bob / pixie bob... My favorite things about your videos are 1) your creativity, especially creating 3 and 4 looks in 1 video, very helpful and inspiring... 2) That the looks don't take long to do, and you always look "done" 3) I think your hair thickness and texture are similar to mine so if I tried these looks I coups potentially achieve them (thick, dense) 4) your energy, positivity, and you're not afraid when you first tease it out to look a little clownish or nutty, because it always comes together gorgeously! 5) That you always look feminine, which is one reason I sometimes fear going too short. I'm tall with broad shoulders, so I'd play up makeup and jewelry... Anyway, keep up the great work and thank you!
