How to Tie a Hair Rig

This is a tutorial video which shows how to tie a Hair Rig for Beginners or other anglers who have not tried it before. It is a step by step guide which takes you through the complete process.
There are also a few variations to help you mount baits more easily. Please note that dedicated specimen hunters will also have many variations on this rig, so as you become more experienced, it is worthwhile to check out their versions.

would you need to tie the rig to your main line? if so what knot? great vid

Thanks for your comments. Popular knots for connecting these rigs to the mainline are either the Tucked Half Blood Knot or the Uni Knot.

hello im leaning how to do hair rigs. i was wondering i tend to only fish with 6 to 8 pound line. sound this still work for my line strength. thank you in advance

Most people tie a figure 8 Loop Knot at that end Andrew, but you could use another knot if necessary.

@@FishingwithDen no worries mate you know using the palomar knot to tie the swivel or even to a hook will it be strong enough ive never tied my own rigs before have always used pre tied and want to know about how strong really is the palomar knot and isit strong enough to catch any size carp
