00:37 “I know this will work with both mild and moderate cavities.” 00:50 “There are really four main causes of tooth decay: too much sugar in your diet, excess physic acid, lack of minerals, and lack of fat soluble vitamins.” 01:18 Excess sugar sitting in your mouth supports tooth decaying bacteria to grow which then eats away at the tooth enamel… and are linked to other health issues such as heart disease. 01:35 The number one thing to do is to remove all processed sugar from your diet. Sweet substitutes: stevia, Manuka or raw local honey ~ maximum 1 Tbsp, or fruit (dried or fresh). Remove maple syrup and whole cane sugar for a time. 02:15 The second thing: Phytic acid which is what binds minerals and vitamins in the foods, is mostly in grain and some in beans, nuts, and seeds, unless one soaks which starts to sprout them (or slow cook them), releasing the minerals and vitamins for absorption. Eat sprouted grain breads, grains, seeds, and nuts. Note: 02:56 You are what you digest, not what you eat. 03:59 Step three is load up on minerals… Calcium, Magnesium, and Selenium, Iron, Phosphorous, and Silica that you will find in Vegetables, sprouted nuts and seeds, meats, raw cheeses, and other sheep and goat dairy. Probiotics help with mineral absorption. 4:54 And last, consume a diet high in fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, K, and E. Consume foods that are orange and green.

One thing Dr. Axe did not talk about is GLYPHOSATE in our food! EVIL has found a way to spray most of our food with GLYPHOSATE (Round-Up) before harvest to kill the whole crop at the same time! They call it a drying agent! It's criminal and a crime against humanity! The people behind this practice should be executed! GLYPHOSATE (Round-Up) in parts per million kill all your gut bacteria! Your gut is your second BRAIN. GLYPHOSATE (Round-Up) prevents your body from absorbing vitamins and minerals! How do you think Big Pharma sells drugs? You have to have sick people! How do you get more sick people to sell your product (DRUGS) to? Well you POISON them at every meal! All non-organic grains and beans and even cane sugar are sprayed with GLYPHOSATE (Round-Up)! That is why we should only eat ORGANIC food! I highly recommend you shop at the local farmers market and try to grow your own food if you have the space. If enough people start to buy only ORGANIC food this evil practice will go away! Please pray for an awaking of the general public! Tell everyone you know!

I’ve been coconut oil pulling the past few months and for the past ten years would always have bloody gums after flossing. Since oil pulling I have no bloody gums. The dental hygientist did my cleaning/ floss and I just couldn’t believe there was only the faintest pink. Usually looks like a blood bath and I couldn’t even taste blood. I would never had believed it if I didn’t get results myself. So I understand people being skeptical but seriously try it for a month and see the difference. I’m happy with results, also got a clean bill of health where I usually get “you need a cavity filled” but no cavities this past visit!

I feel so incredibly BLESSED to come across your channel!! The United States needs more doctors just like you! It's so sad that so many physicians base their decisions on which medications to prescribe their patients because they will get a kick back from the pharmaceutical rep they are working with. I was in medical sales before I became a stay at home mom and that job really opened my eyes to a whole other side to health care that I never knew existed. Today, I am trying to do things TOTALLY different then how I was raised with my son. I adopted a vegan lifestyle at the end of April of this year and instead of taking my son to a pediatrician or me going to a primary care physician we go to a Functional Medicine doctor. My parents aren't quite on board with all of the decisions I make, but that's ok! God bless YOU for stepping out of the mold of what the majority of people think about when we think of a traditional doctor. I can't imagine the scrutiny you have endured from "traditional" doctors. I just want to encourage you to keep on making these INCREDIBLY informative videos! This is the first one I've watched and it was extremely informative and helpful. I do have one question and pardon me if you have already covered this in another video but can you give me any other advice for helping maintain and prevent any damage to my teeth since adopting the vegan lifestyle? I did notice some tooth decay between my molars on the right side, which is the side of my mouth that I always chew my food with! Lol. Ok, thanks again for creating such an incredible channel. I've been oil pulling for a couple months now with good results. I don't even brush as often as I should and dry brush as opposed to using commercial toothpastes. Despite that my teeth have a much cleaner feel than they ever did using regular toothpaste. My chipped tooth got infected which was the main reason I decided to try oil pulling. After a few days the pain in my jaw and tooth went down substantially. Note: Also added one drop of pure and organic clove essential oil with the organic coconut oil. This is far more sound as it is much cheaper than standard treatment. More than that, over use of antibiotics is dangerous for the future and our health. Also, you'd think whenever you use traditional products to clean your teeth and mouth when you have a tooth problem that your teeth would feel better? Guess what? They don't. Isn't that funny?... No it isn't. It's quite annoying to think I could've saved my teeth as well as stress from dental visits and an emptier wallet. So.... anyway.... I'm going to give the dentist another visit after a few more months of oil pulling and we'll see the before and after of the scans... With that.. the people will be the judge of what we know is right for us... We don't need massive studies (studies which can be corrupted by conflicts of interest) to tell us what we already know is true. If someone wants proof chances are that person will never believe a damn thing anyway. Hallelujah y'all.

If my teeth get sensitive at all, I oil pull with coconut oil for a few days and the sensitivity goes away and stays away even if I’m not consistent with it. I formed a cavity in 2006, started oil pulling and applying neem oil to it monthly. It stopped the decay dead in its tracks! 15 years later and I still have a perfectly healthy tooth! I hate that people do not know that the teeth are like little organs and can heal themselves. It dose t make sense the drill/fill a cavity with foreign material. Dentists always say a cavity grows up to be a crown and eventually a root canal.

Please don't attempt at home dentistry! I have seen people suffer from preventable gum disease + tooth decays. Seeing your dentist twice a year (or at least once) is essential. Also, studies have shown that oil pulling is not any more effective than a quick swish with mouthwash. Your at home toothpaste is also not as effective as an otc toothpaste. It might work for a few people but it's going to be very very bad for a lot of people.

I'm really disappointed that you didn't mention how horrible toothpaste that contains glycerine is. No matter how many minerals you are ingesting, if you're using a toothpaste with glycerine it won't help. Glycerine creates a film over your teeth that can take up to 12 brushings to get off your teeth. The film it creates doesn't allow the minerals in your saliva to re-mineralize your teeth. Using a non-glycerine toothpaste is one of the most important steps a person can make to re-mineralize their teeth. Also diet is very important, and like he said reducing the phytic acids, and sugars in your diet, but the non-glycerine toothpaste is equally as important as diet. One more thing, if you take vitamin D in conjunction with fermented cod liver oil capsule supplements, fat soluble vitamins, and a mineral-rich butter oil supplement (such as green pasture butter oil), you'll get a lot of healing that way as well.

There is no data implicating glycerin impedes remineralization. Just a myth started by a chemist who proposed a hypothesis and did some rather terrible experiments. Products that contain glycerin have been documented to Remineralize teeth effectively, even arrest decay and remineralize the caries lesion. Until someone, somewhere, actually does some research into this topic it doesn't make sense to live in fear of glycerin.
@lHARDlCaps
@lHARDlCaps 5 жыл бұрын
@Aunty Agony Dr. Gerard Judd, professor of chemistry, who elected to do some research in the field of dentistry. He started the glycerin myth based upon observations of research in which he applied pure glycerin to teeth. Mind you, it wasn't peer reviewed. I'm not sure it even got published in a legitimate journal. To date, I've never even seen the study itself, only it's mention on the web in which Dr. Judd claims to have performed an experiment showing glycerin causes this problem. I tried to find citations and research on the topic of glycerin and tooth remin and could not find any examining the topic directly, or indirectly in a fashion one could gain valuable insight. Some of his research was entirely unpublished and unverified by anyone other than himself. Which makes it his word against every published study in existence showing a glycerin based dentifice with an active ca/p/f/nhap/remin agent providing greater remineralization than plain brushing. The few studies I've seen some of the glycerin proponents use were not designed to test for glycerin inhibiting remineralization. All have confounding factors (such as additional additives in a gum balm that lead it to have an acidic ph being used in a patient population not reflective of majority of the population) or circumstances in no way reflective of glycerin being applied in the mouth (submerging bovine teeth in pure glycerin for 8 hours). Dr. Judds assertion that glycerin inhibits remineralization is at best esoteric, and personally I find it to be unqualified. I would quite enjoy for someone to examine this hypothesis by testing tooth powders against a glycerin based paste of the same formula as the tooth powder, but no one has. In fact, there are many unanswered questions regarding the ingredients used in toothpaste and tooth powder, and even Dr. Judds recommendation of bar soap. And to be clear, experiments exist all over the place and remain unpublished and people learn about them because the researcher doing the experiments can share that data however they please: in a conference, in a person to person meeting, or as Dr. Judd did by writing a book with interesting claims and insufficient evidence; his work is more belief than data. How much of that belief might be validated with future research is unknown. There's been over a decade for that occur and it has not. Dental research goes where the money is, and examining glycerin must seem a silly idea to spend resources on to dental researchers. To talk about claims and real world data when it comes to caries and remineralization is...well, real world data: homeless people with terrible hygiene have caries that arrest and remineralize - ask any dentist who works with that populations and they'll tell you they've seen it, especially prisons. Some people don't touch a toothbrush and have no dental problems, while others do it religiously and have plenty. And you'd say, hey it's the GLYCERIN, and I'd say n=1 I tried bar soap per dr judds directions for 8 months and got 3 cavities in spots I never got cavities before... and there are published case studies showing using MI Paste, a ca/p paste based on glycerin, can reverse incipient caries. Caries is a multifactorial disease process involving systems biology. Dr. Judd didn't have the background to understand this. Dr. Judd also was attempting to understand this process in a time in which the data to do so was not available (his work hails from 2001). We've learned a ridiculous amount of information regarding the mouth and body since that time. We now know much of what research indicated in the early 90s and 2000s was incomplete to the point of being erroneous. Caries is a systems biology process. And to those few currently really tuned into how craniofacial growth and development influences human health, current theories on caries are all inadequate to explain it. There's a huge missing puzzle piece involving sleep, breathing, digestion, and the nervous systems which isn't acknowledged in any of the theories on caries.

Dental assistant here. After listening to the first few minutes of the talk, I must make a few corrections.1. It's not the excess sugar that causes tooth decay, it's the acid produced by the tooth decay causing bacteria (Lactobaccilus Mutans). The bacteria feed on simple carbohydrates. If you don't have those bacteria, you will not get tooth decay 2. Any acid will eventually cause enamel erosion as calcium is taken from the enamel to neutralise the acidic environment in the mouth. That weakens the tooth. Enamel erosion is not caries 3. Fat soluble vitamins don't have much to do with dental caries. 4. Lack of minerals is not a direct cause of dental caries. As taught in dental assisting school, there are three requirements for dental caries to develop: simple carbs, Lactobaccilus Mutans bacteria, and tooth structure. Remove one component, and there won't be tooth decay.

Some great tips in the video but I'm not sure if it really got the essence of natural dental health across. Sugars and other fermentable carbohydrates don't just attack the teeth and gums from the outside they cause a drop in internal pressure of the dentine inside your teeth which can then weaken the enamel from the inside. Simply brushing or flossing or using mouthwash is only preventing one side of the attack and also destroys any beneficial microbes that might have been present in your mouth. Eating plenty of natural fats is the best way of getting enough fat soluble vitamins without the need for supplements. Things like eggs ,liver, marrow ,fish, fatty dairy and many other fatty foods that we have consumed right up till the war on fat began. I am not a fan of the taste of coconut oil but olive oil works just as well in my experience for oil pulling. Personally I use a lot of Ghee in my cooking and it tastes so much better for oil pulling but since going LCHF a few years ago I don't need to do oil pulling often anymore and my teeth haven't given me any trouble besides the very rare chocolate binge. The fact that oil pulling works so well for so many should be a clue that having fat in your diet is a good thing. I saw only recently that having high levels of large cholesterol is highly correlated to not getting Alzheimer's or other Dementia's. This also has to be a massive clue to dietary health.

I've noticed many dentists (including my own) say we can't grow new enamel... but at one point in our life, we are a cell, then many cells, then we make our teeth. If our teeth have a blood supply, why couldn't they heal?
@drjoopj
@drjoopj 3 ай бұрын
Teeth can heal. Enamel has limited healing capacity from surface exchange of ions It's avascular and acellular, so enamel cannot make more enamel. The cementum, dentin, and pulp tissues have limited repair ability. These tissues have cells, and get nourishment from vasculature. They can create reparative tissues.

Sweets, foods high in carbs (banana's, dates, rice, etc), acid (coffee, bubbly water, salad dressings with lemon, etc.) promote tooth decay. Flossing is more important than brushing by %70-80. Also, you can remineralize your teeth, but you will never be able to grow back your enamel - once it's gone, it's gone for good, that is until science find a way to regrow enamel. His points are good and people should follow them, but once your enamel is gone, that's it. Take care of your teeth while you're young. Following these steps will be a great way to keep your teeth and reverse decay (to a degree, depending on how bad it is), but it will not regrow your enamel, ever. Your parents are responsible for what happens to your teeth until you're 18 years old, from then on it's your fault. Wish mine actually cared for my oral wellbeing.

+Down The Rabbit Hole Tooth enamel has no living tissue, meaning unlike regular bone, it cannot regrow itself, thus meaning we need to find a way to regrow enamel. Scientists are working on finding a way to regrow enamel and even teeth, but it's a very difficult process. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it's not possible with what we have now, such as food, medicine and even dental procedures. And even if there are ways to regrow enamel, dentists aren't going to tell us and neither is the Internet, because it's a business, meaning if they told us the way to regrow enamel, they would lose money and the dental economy would eventually collapse. We're getting really close, but it's going to be a while due to paperwork between the government, etc. Here read this: www.dentistryiq.com/articles/2015/11/researchers-create-gel-that-regrows-tooth-enamel-eliminates-pain-associated-with-tooth-decay.html

Haven't tried wheat grass pulling, but I swear by wheat grass for great energy, clear skin, strong immune system and the list goes on. I tried many things, but nothing like that... Although I'm aware it can be very individual what works. Just a little rant 😁

phytic acid has a specific purpose just like every thing else. timing is the key. the biggest blackhole in us understanding how things work seems to be a disregard for proper timing: appropriateness.

According to Dr. Adiel Tel Oren,the microbiota in your skin is very related to the microbiota in your mouth because they are in close contact,so it may be advisable to use soil based probiotics instead of lactic probiotics

I’ve ate pretty much anything I wanted. Drank and still drink a lot of milk, but always have brushed, flossed and swish with listerine. Got my 1st cavity when I was 31 3 yrs ago but haven’t had any problems since then

Lucky you! As a kid I had cavities EVERY TIME I went to the dentist. I had my fair share of candy as a kid, but I was always consistent with brushing and flossing. Would you believe I completely stopped eating sweets, started drinking mostly water. I go back to the dentist in my 20s and I’m told I have NEW decay forming around my old fillings in addition to new cavities on un-filled teeth 🙄. Some peoples teeth really are just more prone to decay.

Revelation 13:16 - "It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666." Revelation 18:23 - "The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world’s important people. By your sorcery all the nations were led astray." sorcery = Pharmacia

I really hope you look into the wonders of a whole food plant based diet.
@coreyg.3106

How has that been for your teeth? I did a plant based diet for 2 years, not completely whole food based but many of the foods were horrible for my tooth enamel. Oxalates in foods like spinach and potatoes bind to calcium in your body, phytic acid keeps minerals from being absorbed, citric acid in citrus fruits wears your enamel directly, and the constant digestion of carbohydrates in the mouth feeds the bacteria, streptococcus mutans. This diet you are recommending is probably one of the hardest to do while avoiding tooth decay.
