I have had very active students who come to classes 5 days a week get frozen shoulder, usually after a significant amount of stress in their families. Sometimes these students are very hard on themselves & the frozen shoulder slows them down! As I currently have a frozen left shoulder, am not diabetic or inactive, I can see that this could be more common for people in northern climates as they cannot be as active outdoors for almost 1/2 of the year. My frozen shoulder did not just affect the shoulder, but the movement of the shoulder & arm. Simple things like putting on a shirt, coat or bra suddenly become difficult & things that you need help with! Maybe it’s a matter of learning how to relax from being independent! Fortunately with my approach to activity, and my professional knowledge of movement, my shoulder is getting better with massage & gentle stretching. I have found things that help! Reaching up the wall with your frozen shoulder side helps. Doing this with both sides is limited by the ROM on the frozen side. Exercising gently in water targeting the muscles around the shoulder joint & as it improves, moving to light resistance with dumbbells. Most of the traditional shoulder asanas are not currently possible. Putting weight on a frozen shoulder, leaning on that arm or sleeping on it will make matters worse! Range of motion, particularly when reaching behind the back is the biggest problem with my particular case! Even that is slowly getting easier. It is important not to push a frozen shoulder, it will heal in its own time. Pushing it might not be helpful, and could set you back in your healing! Energy medicine helps- reiki, therapeutic touch, reflexology, colour light therapy, using sound therapy such as a tuning fork! Find out what your current stress is! Mine is finding work in my new town after moving from the city because of covid cancelling my work & then bringing back too little work to survive on financially!

Absolutely makes sense. I strained my arm using a garden tool and in one day it turned to frozen shoulder. Rice and sugars are making it worse. And I didn’t know that, so I’m changing my diet right now. She gives such calm and great information.🙏🏼❤️🩹

My frozen shoulder is from overuse. Ive done physical work my whole life and had a farm and pruned 600 trees with a hand pruner, took me 3 months. Ive been doing excercises and rub castor oil with a warm compress overnight, only a little joint pain now but getting better.

I have a frozen shoulder right now. And I went to physio therapy and make it worst. And make it worst in the morning. Everything seems like have an inflammation. I'm not eating lot junk food, actually I eat a healthy diet and juicing with different kind of vegetables and fruits. But this pain it 's tiring after a while. I think I will try yoga, and maybe it will help me to relax my body and arms. Thank you for the tips.

Frozen shoulder is not due to coldness!! This is a misconception. The frozen label comes from the opposite - inflammation swells the tissue around the joint, preventing free mobility of the arm. Ice packs much better than hot water bottle. And anti inflammatory medicines as prescribed by a doctor. I had surgery to treat mine. It's s a very painful condition

Someone with frozen shoulder should check his thyroid glands. Stress & luck of vitamin d produce parathormon which washes out calcium from bones. Calcium sits in vessels and joints, as result you can have frozen shoulder. Check at least your vitamin D levels and take it to stop thyroid problem

Very useful information well presented. Have been dealing with this issue for almost two years and still not thawed fully. Would have been useful if there were dynamic visuals of the fourth exercise of the towel with various movement. Description not very clear. Also 3 feet would work only for very short hands! :)
