@musoangelo5 жыл бұрын
I've been cooking on Kamado's for 30 years and I can tell you that you can use about 1/3'd of the charcoal that he put in there. It will get plenty hot and is much easier to control when you have the right amount of lump charcoal in there. He's trying to sell as much charcoal as he can and is misleading you. On the original clay ones that came from Japan in the 50's and 60's, they would tell you to count out just a handful of briquette's to cook with.
@dontherealartist4 жыл бұрын
Well that is awfully cynical and accepting facts not in evidence: How is he ''trying to sell as much charcoal as he can'' when the unburned charcoal can used next time?

How do you feed the fire ... can’t figure it out do you need to remove everything on top to feed it ... thinking on buying one but can’t figure that part out any help is appreciated
@MarksChannel524 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by feeding the fire? IF you mean how do you increase the fire/temperature by letting in more air. The Egg has two restrictions at the top and bottom if you want to make it hotter just slide the bottom more open and leave a slight gap in the stop one.. As natural convection will happen and will increase the fire as you are letting in more air for the charcoal.

I just got an egg. I was told to " SEASON " it before cooking on it. Can you explain the process on doing that ? Thanks, Timmie
@AceHardware5 жыл бұрын
Hi TImmie, When you buy your new Big Green Egg, one of the suggested steps is to cook the first few times at temps not over 350 degrees. This not only allows the gaskets to properly set, but also helps in seasoning or breaking in your new Egg. Chef Jason, our Grill Expert, suggests you cook chicken or steaks the first couple times too, this allows you to learn the adjustments needed to control the temps between the bottom and top setting. Happy Cooking and congrats on your new Big Green Egg!
