A massage machine will not reach the heart because it's protected by the rib cage. In any case, I do not recommend using a massage gun over the heart. If your heart hurts you need to get an examination from a medical doctor asap. If the doctor says you heart is ok, (and your gall bladder, which can refer pain over that area at the back), what you may be experiencing could be referred pain from the rib joints. In which case try this... kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKHJk5WupZtqosc

Thank you for your video. I just got one of these because a low bicycle handle and travel bags have left me with some back and neck pain. Sadly, with a shorter handle that i wish it had. On the user manual, the ball-shaped adapter is recommended for the upper back, while the U shaped is for the lower back. I don’t understand this one. Are we supposed to target the area surrounding the spine, keeping the bones aligned with the concave of the U? Jackhammering the shoulder blades seems to be a bad idea.

@BodyFixExercises3 жыл бұрын
By far, the most common cause of pain on neck extension is jammed joints at the base of the neck... If the vertebral joints between about C6-T3 don't move enough, the ones above are forced to move too much during extension, and this causes the inflammation. It's extremely common. (Stress and spending too much time looking down at mobiles & computers causes restriction in the C6-T3 area) It makes your shoulders feel tight all the time. Icing it will reduce the inflammation, but to fix the underlying restriction you usually need to see a chiropractor, especially if it's chronic. If they are a skilled chiropractor, and can localise their adjustments to the right area, this will give you huge relief. (It's the most common problem I see in my office) You can try releasing it yourself using the following technique ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIuweY2QgLd3Zqs ) but the more chronic it is the harder it is to release it yourself. Good luck!
@howiseetheworld35813 жыл бұрын
@@BodyFixExercises Thank you for the fast response and the great info. I wouldn't mind visiting a chiropractor, but I want to make sure I can find a good one that will help me as quickly as possible, and not try to string the recovery out to get more money. What are some signs to look out for when looking for a good chiropractor?
@BodyFixExercises2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's tricky. The best way is to get local recommendations from people you trust. Here's a few thoughts on the subject ( sarriaquiropractica.es/en/how-do-you-know-if-a-chiropractor-is-good/ ) ...once you've actually tried a chiro, but to find one you need recommendations really. I'll be releasing a KZbin Short on my new favourite exercise for restriction at the base of the neck soon, so keep an eye out for that. Good luck!

I know you aren't supposed to use them on the front of your neck but sometimes I get scared running it up along the back side of the neck (up the traps basically) because it feels so close to that area. Unless I'm literally holding it under my jaw at the corner of my neck (which I never would), is it safe to assume running it along the muscles connecting the traps and the neck is safe?

Good question, johnulcer. The back of the neck is ok***(see below) but anything to the side of the neck (& front) is not good. I put the astericks there because for the vast majority of people, anything on the neck itself causes too much vibration in the brain. You don't want to be vibrating the brain. A lot of the muscles that extend up into the neck originate from below the neck so you'll get some benefit from working them at the base of the neck where the body broadens out into the shoulders. An option that could be used is using the massage gun on its SIDE on the back of the neck with a foam ball. That way the percussion is not going into the body and vibrating the brain. There's not a lot of thick muscle in most people's neck, so even if you were to use a foam ball on its side you'd have to reduce the time there. (2 minutes maximum in any area is most massage gun manufacturer's recommendation but I'd stick to 30 seconds maximum of using the foam ball on its side at the back of the neck.) You're wise being careful in this area.

If it was only 30 seconds and you haven't experienced any headache, dizziness, nausea, etc you should be fine.

Very risky! Please don't do that. You don't want to damage arteries or cause clotting or something serious

Can i use it everyday if the knots or trigger point remain painful?
@BodyFixExercises3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use the massage gun every day, but if you have trigger points that persist in the shoulders, use the tennis ball to press on them up against a wall. I have a video on that. (If they continue, even with the this ball technique, it usually means that you're doing something each day to cause the knots, in which case you should watch my video on the cause of pain at the base of your neck)

Is it normal for the guns to get hot?
@BodyFixExercises3 жыл бұрын
A bit yes, but I'd really only describe it as warm. (Not anywhere near a level where you'd be uncomfortable holding the warm end). Depends on how long you've got it on. I don't usually have it on for more than 5 minutes at a time TBO.
