No practitioner I have met so far can articulate and translate what one knows into language and examples that we students can use, as well as you! You are a gifted teacher and I am so grateful you are willing to share that gift with us.

I was originally trained at a young age and was very fortunate to have as my teacher an Olympic level riding instructor. I moved countries and unfortunately had to have a lot of surgery on one of my legs. That aside, I had always been praised for and confident with my 'soft hands'. Now, with current instructor, whenever I yield when the horse needs it or move my hand to accommodate his balance, I am berated for moving my hands, albeit I only move them an inch or give him some rein when he needs it. It has got to the point when I feel I can't use my hands and am a beginner with contact. Your video has helped boost my confidence with my original knowledge and I am going to back to what i know. Because what I know is my horse responds to my rein communication

You’ve totally taken my style of teaching to its natural conclusion! For years, I’ve taught that the hands should be used, primarily as tools of communication and very minimally as tools of restraint. You just culminated that very logically. Thank you!

I ride Western Reining horses and find this information so valuable! We frequently ride two-handed in training. Our outcomes are a bit different, but the principles are the same. I was referred to you by my sister who is a dressage rider! Thank you.

So awesome thank you I’ve been taking English lessons for a while, but I’ve always had an interest in driving. I believe some of these hand movements, or help me when I drive my horse. 🇨🇦❤️

Anyone else really missing long ridden videos. Seeing the impacts on a horse is much more valuable imo.

Hey Alicia, in your Dresssage, explained part eight you talk about how to bandage and take care of your horses, legs when they only have front shoes, you say to put a simple pair of jumping boots on can you say Horse with only shoes and a little bit fresher, when you say, to put overreach boots and you mentioned a fully shot or in the flu shot with a prior injury should have polar wraps on, but you never mentioned their horses with prior injuries, or entirely barefoot horses without a prior injury what you should or how you shave, bandage or boot those horses in that video boots on horses forces with all four shod fire injury, or only the front was a prior injury,

The horse I ride has a tendency to struggle with looking inside to the left. Do you think it also helps to use your tips to have a slight shorter inside rein placed closer to his neck to support him ?

Thanks, these details have never been explained to me, I hear, “soften the rein” and then I give my rein away too much
