I work in a warehouse walking and standing on concrete for 10 hrs. Hadn’t had any feet problems until working in warehouse. I'd notice my toes were jamming the tips on shoes. At the end of shift I could barely walk. So I bought larger sneakers, went from 8.5 to 10. They seems too big but my toes are no longer jammed. Now I’ve noticed pain mostly on the bottom of my right big toe and the joint seems a little larger compared to left big toe. The right big toe, more than the left, is moving closer to the second toe. And now I find it difficult to spread all five toes on both feet. I can see wearing flat flexible shoes on my off days from work. But what shoes would be best for working in warehouse walking and standing on concrete for 10 hrs? I think, I would need more support and cushioning.

Correct Toes needs a size between medium and large. I wear a Medium. In fact, based on the sizing, I should be the smallest size in that category. However, it hardly begins to straighten the great toe. When I add soft material to the center of the spacer to straighten my toe (and I've tried many), the silicone ends up feeling hard and painful. And I need to add something now after months of wearing these. Why? Because the bit between the great toe and 2nd toe keeps popping up and out of place, which is inconvenient and uncomfortable when walking. That would be fine, and sure it's an indication that my great toe is moving, but my toe still isn't straight when this is going on and so without something more, I seem to have reached the maximum benefit from the CorrectToes without the right sort of spacer. The right sort of material for additional spacing ought to be supplied with the product. The spacing is not the issue when it comes to discomfort; the issue is the lack of give - additional rigidity. The large size is huge. There seems to be no way around this issue save to sacrifice my YogaToes (the largest space in those) to provide some comfort. Even then, the toe is not straight. I can straighten my great toes and even move them beyond straight and so the issue is not one of lack of mobility. Correct Toes needs to sort this - either provide appropriate spacing material or have more sizes. I shouldn't have to order silicone online or sacrifice my YogaToes to make these fit.

I've been reading about correcttoes a lot in the past days, after having had surgery in one foot because of bunion plus hammer toe, and now I'm sitting here with a lot of time on my hands .... First of all, I'd like to say that the product seems to make sense. Especially in combination with (only some) barefoot shoes - before I started wearing those, about 6 months ago, I had heaps of pain. However, I notice that in all of the advertising videos and pictures, you only ever see perfect feet with perfect toes. Anyway .... What I am wondering about is this: if correcttoes is supposed to make your foot use and strengthen the right muscles, why do some people say that they can't walk without pain when not wearing correcttoes, even after a long time of using them? Shouldn't those muscles be properly trained after a while? Why does the inventor still use them on a daily basis?
@correcttoes4 жыл бұрын
There are very very few people that say that they can't walk without pain when not wearing Correct Toes, especially after a long time of using them, so I'm not sure where you heard that. I suppose a "long time" is relative to each individual, but if you wear narrow shoes for 40 years, you can expect it to take many years to undo that process. Correct Toes helps people to better align their feet and toes so they can become strong and functional again, but in the end it's ultimately up to the individual to strengthen the feet in a new healthy position. Correct Toes recommends you be active in them. The results you get with Correct Toes very much represents the work you put in while wearing them. Dr. Ray could do without Correct Toes now that he has been rehabbing his feet for 2 decades, but he chooses to lead by example and practice what he preaches. Plus Correct Toes become very comfortable over time and make for a great and balanced running experience.
@untukmenulis924 жыл бұрын
@@correcttoes Thank you for answering. I suppose you are right. I read it I think in an Amazon comment or two. I ordered them regardless, but still was wondering. I'm hoping to do something for my second foot in the meantime until I can walk properly again on the first one I had surgery on. Unfortunately I won't have enough decades left to correct the decades I missed out, to cure my feet with 24 degrees bunion deformity. Healthy shoes were really ugly when I was young, there was no such thing as good looking barefoot shoes. There was also no internet, medical doctors weren't where they are now, and insurance didn't cover "cosmetic problems". But I guess Correct Toes could help for the bunions not to return, and keep my ankles, hips, spine etc in place. I love hiking with my dog, and I want to do that without pain. Makes sense that it all begins with the proper alignment of your feet and gait.

Hello,do you perhaps know if they fit in any men's vivo barefoot shoes? Is any vivo barefoot shoe wide enough?
@correcttoes5 ай бұрын
Hey there, the fit of Correct Toes with mens vivo shoes is dependent upon the foot as we've found those with narrow feet can fit them comfortably but those with wider feet had to make modifications of the Correct Toes. The Primus Lite Knit would be a great option to try out as the material is slightly more flexible around the toe box area.
@eve44924 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video,; sorry I didn't find it before emailing with a question. But now a new question: what percentage of your patients "outgrow" the need for Correct Toes? Assuming my problem is eventually undone and I stop doing damage with bad shoes, is there ever a time to graduate and if so, what's the average length of time to that point for people with severe bunions?
@correcttoes4 жыл бұрын
The answers for these questions are highly individual. I suppose one may "outgrow" the need for Correct Toes when their feet are pain free, mobile, and in an adequate alignment for that person. Correct Toes founder, Dr. Ray McClanahan, has been wearing Correct Toes since he invented them and still wears them daily. The time to stop wearing Correct Toes is the time you're comfortable with the progress your feet have made, but Correct Toes will still be there for you if you should choose to wear some shoes or socks that compress the toes. Some people notice improvements within weeks and for others it can't take over a year. Often people wear narrow shoes for their whole lives (30, 40, 50+ years) and so it can sometimes take a long time to reverse and recondition the feet back into alignment.

Can you wear correcttoes with orthotics? I am working on strengthening my intrinsic muscles but am afraid I would have serious foot pain without my motion control shoes and orthotics. I have neuromas, plantar fasciitis, minimal fat pads, minimal arches, metatarsalgia, bunions that are not too bad, big toes starting to cross over into 2nd toe, and whatever else is on the icky foot menu! Lol. I was a flight attendant for 40 years and my feet are not happy with all the abuse! I love to walk, hike, and be active in any way possible. I’m intrigued by the idea behind correcttoes and other things one can do to try to heal naturally. Hi! Thank you for informative video! Why it’s not recommended to wear them while sleeping? I heard many suggestions that wearing toe correctors while sleeping is the best solution for people with bunions, is that true?
@correcttoes5 жыл бұрын
Hi Maya! Thanks for the support and for the great question. Here's a bit of a lengthy explanation below! This also applies for people with bunions :) We find that Correct Toes are most effective when your feet are bearing weight, meaning any time you are standing or active. While there is nothing wrong with using them while sleeping, using Correct Toes while inactive won’t provide the results that Correct Toes are capable of. Just like with any muscle in the body, strength is formed by working muscle groups. The feet are no different-you must move your feet for your feet to strengthen. The simplest way to strengthen your feet is to allow them to move as they were naturally designed. Performing weight-bearing activities while wearing Correct Toes ensures that your feet are held in an aligned position, so while you give your feet a workout by walking, running, etc., they are doing so in proper form.

I found them very uncomfortable, especially under the toe joints. Maybe I just didn't give them a long enough trial? I can see the logic of them and I do sincerely want to prevent my bunion from getting worse. Also, my daughter who is playing university soccer has inherited the bunion and I'd like to be able to help her take the right steps to minimize and correct the bunion.

We call the time it takes to get used to Correct Toes, the "transition time," it varies for everyone but generally takes between 2weeks-2months or more. Variables to consider are age, shoe wear, health, injury, sizing, and activity level. During this transition time it is recommended to go very slow, 30 minutes or less the first day and so on. This also includes minimal activity(walking around your home) and then increase to short errands, and so on. If they are still uncomfortable please do not hesitate to send us photos and detailed descriptions so we may assist you. Thank you!

Want to order shoes to help with neuroma as well as large bunions but unsure of which ones to get.
@correcttoes5 жыл бұрын
Hi Rita! Sorry for any confusion with the Shoe List. You're correct in describing the characteristics we look for in footwear: flat (zero-drop), wide and flexible. Footwear that is widest at the tips of the toes will prevent squeezing and compression to already irritated nerve (neuroma) and also allows space for the feet to fully splay and not be constricted tightly- which can deform feet over time and lead to bunions. What kind of footwear are you looking for? There are some great casual options from Softstar and Vivobarefoot, like the Sawyer and the Ababa, respectively. Thanks for reaching out!

Why is this so overprices? Correct toes are nothing revolutionary but a copy of the previous idea with some small modifications. There plenty of cushions and pads on Amazon that are way cheaper and design come pretty much close to it at a fraction of the cost. "Variety reasons" what nice general statement versus actually indicating a clear concise answer. The bullshit of companies. Silicone is an inexpensive product total production cost for each is way under 4 dollars for a pair. You can even 3D print this and they would cost you still less than 10 dollars. So again how were is you over 600% mark up come into play. Marketing nope not much out there everything is word of mouth, packaging nope its simple nothing fancy, you can actually make the packaging even cheaper if they wanted too. Patents nope none out there just the trademark for the name. A $60 dollar pair of shoes has more components and is more costly to produce than this.

Then why are cookies so expensive at a bakery? I could make one for mere cents in my kitchen. Even a dozen is a a dozen cents. But I wouldn't be able to keep a roof over my head if I just sold 20cent cookies from my kitchen, because, you know, expenses.

Welcome to America my friend. You can even buy them and resell them to another sucker.

So why you should pay 400 $ for a pair of orthotics made of plastic, rubber and foam? Aren't those materials cheap? Then why conventional foot doctors sell you those things for such a high price? Because, my friend, everything in life has a cost. If you don't want to pay for these objects, why don't you make them by yourself? What? You are not able? Does it cost too much? Then it's easier if you buy it from a specialist.

I tried the cheaper ones and they cut off your circulation to your toes.
