Hello everyone! I have been avoiding cold calls with everything in me. I don’t know when or how I developed such a strong dislike for cold calling. Maybe it was working at a call center one year. I would like to ask my fellow entrepreneurs a question. Which one do you feel get the best results? Cold calling or cold emailing. Thanks in advance.
@LevelingUpOfficial5 жыл бұрын
If you're avoiding it so hard, maybe it's either you have strengths in other areas and can try to delegate the cold calling out, or maybe the motivation/ result isn't strong enough? Whichever the case, cold emails are easier to scale. You can use tools like Outreach to set up email campaigns. Think about what your best results will come from, and where your time will be best spent. You can hire someone to do the other projects for you.
@Aviciiz5 жыл бұрын
Cold calling defenitely because they have to listen and have to give an answer directly! With emails both of these things are unsure
@SpookyFriendsClub5 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of sending emails out first as a warm-up, and call them saying "hey, this is Catherine from Blueprint, I wanted to make sure you received my email because I'm looking forward to your thoughts on its content". Don't be afraid to cold-call, it's how business gets done, but do a little research to make you deadly. I like Stelli Efti from Close.io's videos too.
@NetSkillNavigator4 жыл бұрын
Test it yourself, ma'am. What I usually did is combine both.. Like I'd reach to them via LinkedIn for the purpose of building relationship first and then getting appointments. The point is ..research about your target market first so you can personalize/customize your message. And from that, you can narrow your message base on their interaction. Hope that helps.

Hi guys, Is it good or bad if I add a link to my website in the cold lead email, charmingly saying to check it out or do you believe they will be afraid to open it up because of spam or virus? Also, can I use a more presentable table of pro and cons so it looks prettier or is it too much? Thanks!
@LevelingUpOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Try including a link to something they will find valuable - like an article that you wrote that solves a problem they might be facing. You can include you website link in the signature of your email. The pros and cons feels a little salesy. Save that for a followup email or a phone call.

Hi Alex, just wondering if you could elaborate on the tip: "Tell them something they already know is true. Speak it if you're an expert and tell them the solution."? Please give a few examples. I didn't see you do this in the theoretical email you talked about during the video. You went straight from the compliment to say "my name's Alex and I do digital media".
@LevelingUpOfficial6 жыл бұрын
@Ryan - Hey chiming in for Alex - I think what could work is put a short and sweet comment about their work or space that shows you've done some research - Alex mentioned the example of "love the food photography" - I think that's what he's referring to by "speak it as an expert"

only a few minutes into it but he seems to be describing the generic 'spam' mails i get on gmail and messages from someone i don't know on Linkedin. I send industry targetted emails to industry specific audience.
@LevelingUpOfficial5 жыл бұрын
One of the challenges you'll always have with cold email is finding a way that doesn't come off like spam. Once a method or template is shared, then everyone starts using it and the tactic is no longer new and fresh ;) I think the point is, always look to add value and be interesting.
@NetSkillNavigator4 жыл бұрын
One way to avoid bein tagged as spam is: * Research well about ur target market and tailor your message to what you find about your target market. Example: Give compliments related to his/her company * You have to personalize ur email as much as possible.. If you want, be a 'lil bit informal *Keep it short and concise and direct to the point. That's it base on my experience. You can hit me on Upwork if you need help: www.upwork.com/freelancers/~0126032f0186d79407

In his video of mistakes to avoid he says don't use the word "I" and in this video he says his first line is always a compliment. In this case "[I] Came across your website" Well which is it?

The idea is that the target of the email did some work on power rangers. That shows its not spam. So you're doing some research and putting specific compliments to prove it's not a mass email

They aren't really cold emails if you are addressing specifics of their website or company.....you are researching the prospect/target and using that information to specifically engage your audience. That's the reason it can work and by definition it's a warm contact. Cold is 100% generic and never recipient specific. Cold emailing is playing the numbers blasting....warm is researching to various extents and these emails being "warm" is the very reason for the success rate. Lesson.....don't bet your retirement on cold emails....take the time to make every single one warm and maximize your time spent by increasing read rate or close or whatever your goal. Also, every target and market respond to different calls to action. Know your audience. Simple example...if you are emailinga Controller of a company, email around the numbers...don't write about what color your product is because he/she doesn't care. Research is the point. Warm ( never cold) contacts and know your audience.

Is buying email lists in a specific industry ever a good idea?
@AlexBerman6 жыл бұрын
We've had better success buying access to lead databases like Zoominfo or DiscoverOrg. As long as the list is well researched, targeted, and the cold email you send is short and relevant it can be a great idea.
@LevelingUpOfficial6 жыл бұрын
Oh that's a tricky one, especially with the new EU regulations and GDPR laws . You really need to do your homework on the source you get a list from and who the list is comprised of.
