The sidewalk thing is super real in the cultural sense. I'm from Venezuela and all of my male friends/boyfriends would do that for me and my girlfriends. We were used to that. It was like if you were on the outside of the sidewalk next to the cars, with a man, you were being "sold" or "offered" to other man
