Tristan is right, knowing the 'why' behind a website request is critical so you don't end up deliver an amazing website that doesn't work because its in the wrong context. As a former hvac business owner myself all these problems are something a business will deal with at some point. I never wanted a website for it's amazing design, or the latest CSS animations, or so it could be built with whatever of the thousands of tools to do it. I. Don't. Care. I want clients to call my phone or email me for a quote because they looked at the website. Period. However you get there, I don't care. I care about what the website will DO for my business. Its funny being a web developer now and talking to hvac business owners, I can practically feel their anxiety spike when anything web or SEO related comes up.

What if you are not good at website aesthetics can you still be successful with web design ?

You can still have a web design business, but you’d have to look to utilise a web design freelancer to help support the design. Or learn to design aesthetically pleasing designs. ✌️
