I loved the first episode! Alan trying his best to keep up with the modern format as he cracks under the pressure and makes an arse of himself. I've been laughing about it all day, some of the subtle slip ups like 'clunt' were brilliant. I think losing the laughter track helped keep the tempo up and made it quite different to previous series. I'd recommend the Alan partridge audio book of his autobiography to people who like this series, I think the same people wrote it.
