After spending a few years with painful knees, then one of them locking up so I couldn't straighten my leg until whatever popped out, went back in, I made an appointment in February for the doctors. No personal visit, doctor rang me. I explained my problem. Doctor then said you need to see a physio therapist, they will make an appointment. So I was put on a waiting list. Hurray, my appoint came through. 10th July. I have been, was diagnosed with arthritis in one knee, miniscular tear in the other, with a cyst. Ummm. 3 months of physio therapy will sort it out. First visit, 4th September. You have to laugh. Anyway, mean time do these video exercises, that they have me a link to. BUT..... I found Will Harlow. My oh my. Life has changed. I have now ordered the book too. Not had any locking up since doing the leg muscle exercises. Thank you so much Will. Looking forward to getting more mobility as time goes on.

Hello again. We have a senior exercise group and we use a walking stick as support in many of our exercises for obvious reasons. Its used in various ways for shoulder arms and wrist exercises. In our culture we have a, what we call a taiaha or spear and there are many twists and turns. We also use, what we call a poi which we twirl in different directions using the wrists. These were not only for weapons, but for dexterity and to limber up. Just sharing. From New Zealand.

Thank you! Great synchronicity as I’ve started to do some yoga and never realized my limited range of motion on left shoulder. Just turned 50 so I’m hoping I caught it in time! Thank you! What a great channel. So much on KZbin is for younger audiences. Really appreciate your videos!! 😊

Thanks for your videos. I have a hard time being lazy and undisciplined to exercise. I need to wake up and get motivated. You are very encouraging. Great explanations. Like your British accent so much. I'm over 60. Do not like saying that. Have tried doing push-ups, sit ups, squats, etc. Always feel better after. Some "reverse leg lifts" on hands and knees for firming my glutes. Need to get serious about this and just enjoy it. Can not jog or run or walk a lot due to painful feet. But CAN still get around, drive, shop, etc. Sorry for long text. Btw, you make great videos and you are a good-looking, very presentable man. Keep up the good work. God bless you in a special way.

Had painful shoulder impingement and I mean painful as hell like a aching tooth ache but in your shoulder, after extensive research a number of really top notch physio's like Will all gave rave reviews on the dead hang , just a tip if you can't do 30 secs supporting your entire weight try keeping your feet partially on the ground so you're hanging with maybe 75% of your weight. Alot of physio's refer to Dr John Kirsch's book on shoulder health as a game changer I'm 49 and was heading for sugery now I'm almost back to normal but with better healthier shoulders that I will never take for granted.

I hate doing dead hangs but shoulders love it! At first could only do 5 sec but have worked up to >60 sec, 5x/week. As soon hands start to slip I tighten core to “active” dead hang to take pressure off hands. Grip strength has also greatly improved. I’m a 70 yo, 130 lb female and will do this for the rest of my life.

Thanks for your help I have had problems walking with pain in my left foot after surgery to immobilze my ankle after the cartledge wore away...this was back in 2007. Recently I have had a lot of pain developing right in the point of the centre of the foot just behind the front pad , felt like there was a stone in there....this has almost stopped me walking sometimes. I saw your video on buying a squash ball and rolling it around with my foot and along the arch and it has worked almost straight away...I am so gratefull thanks. I have ordered the book .

@@HT-Physio Hi Will, I really appreciate your personalised response. I'm an ex National and Provincial athlete, but at 82 have balance problems and insensitive feet have to be very careful. I'm fortunate that I am flexible with healthy joints and strong bones due to the types of exercise that you present so well - walking, even with a walking stick is a problem. I find that apart from balance, my quads get stiff and tired if I walk too far. I'm also a retired academic, therapist and sport psychologist' so I have a fair understanding of anatomy and movement. Your presentations are both straight forward, clear and helpful. Pity I wasn't living in the UK to have personal sessions on my walking!! I wish you well with your practice - I'm sure that there are many senior citizens who value your contribution. Stay well!!

At the age of 80, my shoulders are still pretty strong. For a long period of my life I have worked with weights. Problem is, as a teenager I lifted weights which were too heavy for me because I had no adjustable barbells, only barbells which were made with concrete, which were not adjustable. As a result I think there is a calcification in my right shoulder joint. I feel pain in my right shoulder . I was wondering if these exercises would help or make it worse.

OK. I have 3 right shoulder rotator cuff muscle tears, and I'm 73, diagnosed last year. BUT I can lift both arms above shoulders and have full mobility right now. think I'll do the hard one on the left side, and the umbrella one on right side, even though I can lift both arms up... worried about making tears worse if I try the 2nd. one? thoughts?

Hi, Will, I used to do the dead hang (mokey bar in children playground). Yes, it feels really good for my shoulders and underarm muscles. However, I think my belly will get protruded and I can overstretch my back. Another chiropractor on you tube channel said that it's OK to compress the back but not to pull the back as it can tear the back muscles. It's not that I wanted to believe him: I myself experienced a weaker back after doing the dead hang for a long time. Not I stop doing it and I am trying to restore my back strength. Until now, I am still not quite there yet. I am still doing my core exercises to strengthen my back
