Another week of winter up here. I love the toy cars; have a collection of them around the patio.

You’ve inspired me to get one! Living on Lake Michigan myself (manistee) there’s too much opportunity not to! Last night I found a Philips drill bit to add to my tools!
@Swing4TheRing8 ай бұрын
That is awesome! I love Manistee. I need to spend more time up there. I'll leave the treasure for you though!

Awesome! one thing - can the audio volume be normalized? Had to turn up the volume to hear better and then BOOM! - BOOM! BASS rocks the house, waking everyone up and scaring the cats! lol! (Example at 6:10!)
@Swing4TheRing4 жыл бұрын
Slappa da bass! I apologize to the cats haha! I've upgraded the camera since then, so newer videos should be more consistent. Cheers!

Great weekend hunt just an FYI in traverse city they have a new Beach sweeper. It's supposed to get anything bigger than a quarter. He said it gets rings but smashes them by the time they get to the hopper.

Yay... it's a little cold out right now to be digging haha!
@joeschmo39955 жыл бұрын
Do you get to keep everything you dig up on the beach or yards? Or say you find a diamond ring do you have to turn it in first?
@Swing4TheRing5 жыл бұрын
Always depends on the area you are hunting. Private property hunts you may arrange with a landowner to look over your finds first, but some people don't care what you dig up. Some parks may have a rule for you to report your findings to the DNR, but they typically don't care to see your pull tabs every time you go hunting. Most places consider it a finders keepers hobby. If you find a traceable ring, it's good karma to try and find the owner if you can though.
do they allow detecting at frankfort city beach and the beach up at pt betsie? never seen anyone out there
@Swing4TheRing7 жыл бұрын
You should be good to go at both locations. Just stay out of the dune grass area when digging as that is protected as an environmental sensitive area.

Very nice find! Where can I find an access to the lake? I live east of Lake Michigan and have been to a couple areas... but most are pay to enter. Are there any that you can drive to that are access free? I also have the AT-Pro from Garrett. Still learning it. Hope to learn more from your videos! 😉

If you have a recreation passport, you can put in at Pettys Buyou Boat Launch in Spring Lake and follow it out to Lake Michigan.

I get the same question all the time about how much does it cost to get into metal Detecting by just about everyone, whether I’m at the beach or out at the parks. The first I ask them what areas are you wanting to hunt and then “how much do you really want to spend?”. They’ll ask me how much I paid for mine and I’ll tell them about 800 total. Just the detector cost me 600 on Amazon and their response is wow. It’s an investment that you really have to work hard to get a return and when that happens you’ll be grinning from ear to ear. Nice hunt and thanks for sharing. GL&HH

how much you pay for the permit?

How much money would you say you made since you started detecting and how long have you been doing this? What's your largest single monetary find to date?
@Swing4TheRing7 жыл бұрын
Been at it for about 10 years now and I'd say I make anywhere between $1000-$2000 a year, but that doesn't factor in cost of equipment, gas, etc. so it's still a hobby, but a fun one!

I wonder what one could do with a dog tag? There aren't many military bases everywhere or other military administration locations to take those so they're returned to the soldiers they belong to.
