To those who may not know, yes an Aurora on the North Pole also means there’s an Aurora on the South Pole, due to some funky stuff the earth’s magnetic field does when it gets hit by Solar Wind. The word “Borealis” itself actually denotes that it takes place in the Northern Hemisphere; in the Southern Hemisphere they’re called Aurora “Australis”.

I have two fun facts. 1. “Boreas” was the name of the spirit od the Northern Wind in Greek Myth. The name of the Southern wind was “Notus,” but the Romans Latinized the name to “Auster.” (Latin for South.) 2. This means that the name “Australia” just means “That Southern place” in Latin.

Honestly, I've long felt like this standard description of ADHD is backwards. For starters, it's not that you focus strongly on things that you like or take interest in, it's that you focus far better on things you "get", which leads you to developing an extreme interest. It's not that you can't focus well on things you don't like, you just have more trouble growing to like things when you can't keep hold of them. Honestly, I don't really like describing it as difficulty with "focus" or a "deficit" of "attention". If anything, it's the opposite. I have far too much attention, and meds designed to help me "focus" just made everything come in more powerfully. The brain can't tell that something isn't crucial to focus on, so it tries to focus on everything, like a juggler trying to keep a hundred balls in the air simultaneously. It's not that I'm no good at keeping the balls up, I just can't tell what balls I can afford to drop so I'm stuck desperately flailing to catch them all.

I understand that it's a spectrum like Autism and that everyone that has ADHD experiences it differently but the way I put it is how I experience it and think about it.
