Thank you for the lessons. How about tipping a postal worker who delivers mails to my house? Is it okay/common to tip them? Or would it be offensive?

You’re welcome, thank you for writing! :) Good question, I have never tipped them, it’s not common I think. But it’s hard to imagine that they’d be offended :D

It is an interesting question. I don't tip them usually. But it happened that the postman brought the monthly retired pay for my mother, and my mother usually told me to give him some tip. So when he said 'Here is your 46 128 Ft" I told him '45 000 Ft-ot kérek vissza', so basically I gave him 1128 Ft tip (it is just an example, these were not the actual numbers lol). I don't think it is common to tip them usually. It depends on where you live, if you know the postman already, how much you can afford it etc. Sorry for my broken English :))

No, it is not offensive. I wanted to add as a comment that Sziszi forgot the postmen. It used to be common to give them tip, mainly for the so called "pénzes postás" (money postman). But I think with the proliferation of credit cards and the slow disappearance of cash, this habit is starting to disappear.

Usually the postman with the money is tipped, although most of the time the two (the one who delivers the mail and the one who delivers the money)are the same. So feel free to give it to the postman, he won't be offended :)

Mindig aszthittem hogy "borravaló" jelent "for the purpose of some wine" :)

Lehetne úgy fordítani, hogy 'for wine', de ez csak egy szó arra, hogy 'tip' :)

Nekem kapásból elég egyszerű megoldásom lenne erre: - Mennyiből adhatok vissza? - Kétezerből :-) (mindig adok borravalót, de egy ilyen kérdés után lehet hogy megfontolnám...)

Jól mondtam a videóban. Ezt így mondjuk. Nem azt mondod, hogy mennyit kérsz vissza, hanem, hogy mennyiből.

Tehát 5000 - ből ( 3:17) illetve 6300-ból ( 4:02)fogok visszakapni , de miért ezekből, ha én 10000-et adtam ? És mennyit kapok végeredményben, merthát a visszakapott 5000, illetve 3700 a 10000-ből származik és semmi esetre az 5000-ből illetve 6300-ból. Nekem a pincérek mindig hálásan megköszönik a borravalót és azt is, hogy nem nyakatekerten (tehát magyarul és világosan)fogalmazom meg, hogy mennyit kérek vissza. És nyugodjunk meg : ők azonnal látják mennyit kaptak mint borravaló.@@HungarianwithSziszi . Szivélyes üdvözletem.
