This was my FIRST in real life debate in front of a live audience. The hostile audience didn’t do me any favors and I definitely wasn’t perfect, but overall I’m quite pleased with how I did and the overall experience. I know some wanted a bloodbath, but the format agreed upon didn’t allow for much of that. More so, John giving his points, me debunking them, and so on. Either way I hope you all enjoyed and I look forward to doing more live debates in the future!

No shit. He implies this. In a world where men take charge and rule, and often put woman below them, it’s going to be very difficult for woman to compete. Just so everyone knows, the "der" in gender does not etymologically refer to skin. The root word for skin is "derm" and is usually used as a prefix, as in "dermatology." The word gender is derived from the Latin term "genus" which is defined as a type, sort or kind. From the quick Google search I did, it appears the "d" appeared in the word as an additive from Old French, where they typically put a "d" after an "n" (thunder, spindle, etc.) Love how Doyle just pulled false etymology seemably right out of his butthole. Bet he felt so smart when he came up with that one.

One thing I noticed in John Doyle's opening statement is he takes stats that say "most people fit into gender roles" and extrapolates that to "all people". He never says this directly, but he leads you to that conclusion, and reframes the debate to be about this. He directly says that in order for Hunter to win he has to prove that NOBODY fits into gender roles, which is impossible. It's very fucking sneaky. Even his own stats disprove his point that ALL people fit into gender roles, but he brings them up as if they dont. You only notice what hes doing if you pay close attention. Right wingers in general have very binary thinking, either everyone fits into gender roles or nobody does, and "most" is basically the same as all.

@quinnrosenberg3500
@quinnrosenberg3500 Жыл бұрын
@@kaziem hunter missed his chance to call this out and paint John doyle as an extremist who wants a christian ayatollah. Right wingers always hide the ball with their beliefs, and john got more mask off as the debate went, but hunter could have cut off that dance immediately and it would have made him look more reasonable. In general I think hunter lost the debate because he was so concerned with defending his position rather than attacking John's. His tactic of saying restrictive gender roles makes people less happy and free was good, but overall poorly worded since he didnt emphasize the freedom part. When debating the right you have a couple goals: come across as more affable, paint your opponent as an extremist, never play defense. On most of these hunter failed.
@ReticentCaptain
@ReticentCaptain Жыл бұрын
The part I disagreed with is, Doyle also managed to argue that pro-independent women rhetoric is actually in fact an anti-gender role argument by principle, which it is not... Basically, wanting people to be able to choose freedom to live the way they want is not the same as being against traditional lifestyle, choosing which lifestyle you want is the point!

@@hunteravallone the reason why women are better care givers ie staying at home, is because they are naturally equipped to do the most basic of needs for a young infant, ie feed them, they're naturally equipped to do so. Their psychology is also attuned for it to fit this basic biological function. Even in the debate you pointed out that marriages where men are stay at home dads and women are the bread winners are more likely to end in divorce, you then say men are more likely to feel emasculated. I would like to add that over 85% of marriages are instigated by women, the simple fact is the majority of women expect their spouse to out earn them. This is not a coincidence. And as for male suicide, the rates are higher because society, (thanks to feminism) is geared to demonize men, especially white men! Look at the divorce courts, as you mentioned in the debate, they are geared to push women into destroying their ex partner/husband, not seeing their kids, being forced to leave the family home because the wife kicked him out to monkey branch to another dude, but still has to pay for everything! Now there might be outliers, like you and your wife, hope you have a long and happy marriage, until death do you apart, but for the vast majority of partners, this is not the case.

Doyle's "red pill" on tobacco was such an incredibly stupid take, even for him. Cigarettes themselves are a fairly modern invention and they were around for nearly a century before people started smoking them like they do today, inhaling the smoke. It's also only modern times that allowed for production of mass quantities of them at prices that everyone could easily afford, leading both broadly to more of a smoking culture and also allowing for people to smoke more for less. Yeah Doyle I can't imagine why there would only be evidence of lung cancer being caused by tobacco when people started to inhale it and it became cheap and easy to manufacture.

I don’t even know who John Doyle is, but here we go Ok, so here is an edit, with my notes I took as the debate went on: John Doyle makes his weakest argument at 30 minutes in or at least so far, arguing that domestic abuse isn’t a problem and probably isn’t real anyway. He justified this by saying his grandma didn’t get abused and it’s all made up by leftist media???? That was incredibly weak because I think he knows that’s a hard point. Hunter realllly shines through in his second response. He’s really holding him accountable, and Doyle can’t get away with using so many anecdotes now. Shame it’s cut short. John is resorting to little quips for response. I’ll admit Doyle is well spoken, I’ve never heard of him before. But he relies too much on just being well spoken and anecdotes to supplement his argument. At 1:20:00 John just starts repeating himself, despite Hunter counteracting his points with data. It’s almost as if John is now completely relying on charisma or anecdotes to supplement his argument. He really is just repeating himself and calling things false just to supplement them with anecdotes or nothing at all. At around 1:26:45 Hunter pulls a little bit of a Doyle by speculating that there is data to back up his point without knowing for sure (there is, but just a critique) At 1:32:30 I really loved to see an insight to the conservative infighting, trump v desantis. Makes me hopeful for a Republican Party split. It’s also funny that he self admits he follows trump like a cult member and then accuses DeSantis of all the things Trump had also done himself. I like how at 1:35:30 John is claiming to argue against capitalism but is actually making an anti populist argument, which we can all agree is ironic. Also being against democracy is extremely cringe. His point at 1:36:15 does stick though. But again that’s also an anti populist point which could be used against him. Is John Doyle a socialist?? Once again at 1:40:00 John’s point relies on socialization not existing. 1:44:00 John is right here but he’s wrong to say that’s the only method. It’s demonstrable that both work, and both should certainly be encouraged. Myself I tend to lean towards the natural route of physical self improvement, but that doesn’t work for everyone. That’s why it’s good to have multiple avenues. 1:48:00 is an interesting take I’ll have to look more into that. It’s true cigarettes are way worse than they used to be. And by extension, processed food is shit. 1:15:40 if they were fired, doesn’t that prove that the institution is against anti-white sentiments? 1:53:30 this sounds like bs. Maybe that’s because the claim is unsubstantial that they’re so stoic to it. 1:55:30 sexual McCarthyism is my new favorite way to describe this phenomenon. 2:01:18 now John is building a straw man of Hunter based on it towing the fact that subtlety and nuance doesn’t exist. This extremely weakens his argument. 2:09:30 mod guy makes a great point here. It’s encouraging to see so many people showing up for this type of engagement (even if it sometimes just turns into a kind of competition) Ok so final closing thoughts: John relied on a lot of charismatic speaking and anecdotes to supplement his argument, and it really shows when he started crumbling during the cross fire segment. Hunter was ripping him a new one and I would love to see more of that, and holding Doyle accountable for his claims. Also, they both looked like soy boys here, and it’s obvious that Doyle’s thin beard is an attempt at disguising that, but I can at least say that Hunter has achieved the trad life and Doyle is a virgin. That’s all.

I had to stop the video around 31:00 when Doyle said marital abuse wasn't prevelant in the 50's and 60's because when you ask "your" grandma she'll say "oh sweety, it wasn't so bad". Well, when * I * ask one of my grandmothers she can tell me about how her husband had beat her one day, and she started hurting herself in front of him as she threatened to go to the police. My grandfather refused to divorce her, and my country didn't have no questions asked, one party divorce until the 1970s. Even after they were divorced my grandfather still stalked her. Doyle's grandmother enjoyed those strict gender roles, mine didn't. Does he expect those gender roles will only apply to women that enjoy them, or does he simply not care about women suffering, as my grandmother did? I doesn't matter whether my grandma or your grandma suffered marital abuse 60 years ago, the fact is that millions of women around the world suffered it. And Doyle wants to being back the conditions which allowed for so much suffering.

Tbh as a man I always feel like a lot of masculinity has been taken advantage of by ideologies that oppress groups of people include men themselves. Capitalism has commodified masculinity. It takes advantage of the idea that if you don’t do something it means you are not a man. I agree that it feels like men feel like they have no purpose, but where that’s coming from isn’t some wave of feminism. The grind mindset can be taken advantage of easily. Just keep grinding until you achieve what you want but the grinding is getting longer to barely exist in this world. Idk just a few ideas and I don’t have time to expand on them all. In case anybody wants to know, Doyle is literally lying about how these gender roles are present in every society throughout history. There were tribes in Northern Europe during Roman times who were matriarchal or egalitarian. The Hopi people of pre-Columbian Arizona and the Haudenosaunee Confederation in New York, Quebec, and Ontario were egalitarian. A handful of pre-Muslim Indian and Burmese tribes as well as a civilization in what is now China were all matriarchal. Dude's pulling this shit outta nowhere

Lol, now YOU are the lying one. Which exactly tribes in Northern Europe? Name specifically, please. I've lived next to Northern Europe almost all my life, I've studied history well, so give me specifics. Also, your statement that "the whole China was matriarchal" is completely false. Han (or OG Chinese) are patriarchal. There was (and is) one such ethnos in Southern China called Mosuo. There are only 60k of them and they are only partially matriarchal. Explain yourself, give specifics. Otherwise I'll assume you lie.

According to Doyle’s train of thought, a woman that is unable to have a child due to infertility isn’t a woman. Since it’s “biological” for her to have children, what is she if she cannot have children? I wonder if he’d say the same about an infertile man. If so, what are these two to him then? Are they even human to him?
