This is my favourite version but it isn't the original version. There was an earlier 1983 (I think) 7" single version which I still have floating around somewhere. It only had the first verse which was repeated, and was very raw. You could hear the strings of the bass vibrating against the fret board. When I was trying to find digital versions of my favourite songs I couldn't find the old 83 version. I contacted the official fan club at the time and they sent me an MP3 of the original.

NO! WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THIS SONG??? The version in which "I go running UP your street". The version with NO EXTRANEOUS verses. The version I first heard at the ANU,circa 1982/3. The 2-track recording that screams desperation as it repeats ONE, perfect verse. The version of which I once had the single. NO! P.S. That's the original 7" single cover.
