I love seeing full sized vehicles off road in the SE. I’ve taken a Gladiator down that trail but now I have a Power Wagon I want to take there. That section about 12 minutes in your vid is about the toughest section if I recall and it looks worse in your vid than the last time I did it.
@EverymanOverland Жыл бұрын
Ya that spot is pretty tight, especially for full size trucks. Smaller trucks can somewhat pick a line, but your power wagon is going to find some places that you just have to put it where it fits and hope for the best. I actually watched a video that has 3 or 4 power wagons gong through HC, so you can do it for sure, but you may come home with additional pinstripes free of charge! 😁

@EverymanOverland10 ай бұрын
A couple times we have seen guys fishing out there. I know that hurricane creek is on the radar for those people that want to close trails to protect fishing. So we try to be respectful if the streams in the area and not disturb them too much.

Great video I have seen on other videos of hurricane creek people asking if a full size truck can do the trail. I did the trail a couple days ago in my 2022 Chevy z71 trail boss with no problem just make sure you chose the correct lane and be safe.

@@abc-ed1nr the entrance is right at the end of the guard rail. You literally hit the brakes and turn off the roadway while on the interstate. No exit, no nothing. Just so you are aware... the section where you failed, you also failed by getting off trail. That's not part of the trail, the gravel road section there is. Seeing that hillside tore up by forest service is gonna give them more amo to shut down HC. Hope you don't try it next time and make others aware of that. Thanks.

I certainly didn't know at the time. I've driven part of a bunch of times, and it looked well established, like many area where there's a hard line and a bypass. So knowing I couldn't make it, I tried it. However I had a conversation with a friend of mine last night and he said that there are hard feelings about that spot in particular, and that it was in bad form. So I have removed it from the video. If you look at the 19 min mark, you'll see it's gone. I now know better, and I do apologize to you and the world as a whole. I'm sorry, if it were a hate hillside I'd never just go chasing around wrecking the place. I'm not that guy. This looked to me like an optional line, and I was wrong.

@@EverymanOverland To be fair though, that trail definitely has areas where it's difficult to determine what's "on trail" and what's not. I'll freely admit, I've made the same 'oops' before. It's really not bad. It's worse in the wet, but the freaky part about it is it's typically off camber towards a 40ft cliff. If it weren't for the cliff, it's no biggie. So it's a mind game. @@gothnate I agree with both statements... The radio while spotting I'll just put down to not discussing it ahead of time, which is just lack of preparation. The hurricane creek in the rain... Maybe. I don't feel that it's a difficult trail. I think it's a good litmus test even for new drivers. If they feel like me that it's an easy trail, then let's go to Windrock. If they think it's more than they want to do, then they should buy a go fast camper or maybe a sprinter van and focus on seeing beautiful places from less aggressive dirt roads. Neither is an insult, but I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what you really want to do, so you can seek that out,and have the best time possible.
