Yes it gets , but only after the Upper cavity ( cis cavity ) hydrolyzes the ATP. ATP is hydrolyzed within the cis complex, which leads to binding of ATP to the other (unoccupied) trans GroEL ring.

Chaperonins are a class Chaperones that are specific for Protein Folding process that means All Chaperonin are Chaperones but all Chaperones are not chaperonin, like when we see some Chaperones are also Heat Shock Proteins....... So we can say Chaperones are called According to their functions.. Hope answers the question
