A chilled water fan coil unit (FCU) works by transferring heat from the air passing over the internal heat exchanger to the chilled water passing within. Cold water is supplied by a chiller unit, or reversible heat pump, which is installed in a central plant room or on the roof of a building.
Next, the chilled water circulates through a pipework distribution system to the heat exchanger (coil) within the fan coil unit. Fans within the unit then draw air over the exchanger containing the cold water cooling the air, which is finally dispersed into the desired space to provide the occupants or building users with comfort cooling.
In the summer, this building uses chilled water and in the winter the building uses hot water which gets distributed to these fan coil units. There is an electrical heater installed for those cold off season days while the chiller is in operation.

Good job Jumper, I try to use new wirenuts or Wagos every time I make a repair or install, Because the spring in the wirenut gets stretched out and doesn't make good contact after it's been used.

Well I not sure if the wagos are better but they are definitely easier to use, only thing is if you push them into an electric box, for a plug or switch you have to watch that you don't reopen the contacts with the levers on the wagos, but the wirenuts are your basic jobs, that you have to minimize cost.

They make a couple different ones, ones with smaller levers work better and they have push connections too. Try them out, they might be a little bit more expensive but the people that use them like them, I still use wirenuts on the job that don't pay a lot. And use push on connections with more permanent jobs.

@johnwalker890 I'm going to try them out. They look cool. It's definitely more expensive. I have a ton of wire nuts in my truck I'd like to use up as well. There's alot of units I come across here where there's not even wire nuts at all. Just twisted wire & tape😂 Then some customers wonder why prices aren't the same. You get what you pay for!
