The point of the video is that our muscles tend to heal better when we let them relax before sleeping. A big part of this is not keeping them fully lengthened. Otherwise, they seem to shorten when we sleep and we're basically doing light isometrics without knowing it. NOTEL I research every video I make, and I couldn't seem to pull up any specific studies on this. However, it's based on basic principles like muscles healing better at rest. Let me know if there are issues. This has helped me out a lot in the past and I hope it can help others! Love you all.

I'm asking for my mom, she was in a car accident about a year ago and is able to walk around fine but she is in constant pain. She's always been tall and thin, sometimes she used to get to thin from lack of some nutrition or some imbalance but She's passed that now and the issue is her nerve/ back pain. I message you this friend because you are the exact kind of thing that she could benefit from. Do you have any beginning guidance? And any videos that I could help her do in order?

Cold for reducing bruising&swelling. Heat for longer term pain (chronic pain) and those deep aches. Actually temperature is great because it not only helps block the pain nerves but it can reduce bleeding&swelling mechanically or help you relax tense muscles. And it’s pretty safe! As long as you can feel if it’s too hot or cold. Compression can also help with pain a lot too: it can reduce swelling and bruising. It can improve your proprioception (awareness of where your body is in a space). So it can help prevent injuries if you wear some stretchy clothes! This is especially useful for people who have dyspraxia or autism, hypermobility or are “clumsy”. Finally, just putting up your feet after a long walk or run can help reduce swelling&pain, and improve circulation and healing. It’s okay to rest and sleep whenever you can.

I sleep in a loose foetal position, on my side, with 2 pillows to protect my shoulders. I have problems with my shoulders, and side sleeping has only exacerbated the problems until I added a second pillow. My chiropractor said I should sleep on my back only, but this approach I use has taken me years to figure out and works INCREDIBLY well for me. I'm definitely going to add a self massage machine to my nighttime routine, too. I got my first massage recently, and it was AMAZING!!
