Just a quick video to illustrate how you can hydrate out hiking anywhere no matter what's in or near the water or what it looks like. This unsightly bath tub with a plethora of Water Boatman in it was actually fed by a spring and it had a tap so I rehydrated and grabbed some juice no matter what it looked like.

Water boatmen/ back swimmers,look happy in there. Good tip for finding water if you run out, usually water near human habitation and farms on the trails. Makes you think how lucky we are in this country. When you think that some people in the world don't have safe clean piped water. Hope that was a good hike. The dog doing his job, looked like a new Zealand hunt away, a working farm dog breed. You were cool knowing that he was just telling you . Good one. Have a good week Marky 😊👍

Ah, yeah I've heard of them Steve. For sure we are never far away from water here but people will pass on the most obvious mean of hydration that others across the world would not. Yes, a great hike. Great tip Mark. I come across a fair few old baths in my local countryside. I liked the water boatmen living in the bath too. This has been my first proper dip into You Tube for a bit. I've been feeling a bit strangely demotivated with wildcamping and the whole YT/social media thing in general really of late, so it's been good to see what you've been up to. Those water boatmen looked big , not seen them for a while but I know they give a painful bite , nice to come across water sources like that when out hiking , spring water from a tap , there's a natural spring in St James Gardens in Liverpool, I always have a quick drink when I'm there 💧cheers mate 👍 atb

Something I forgot to mention in my original comment was the graveyards of defunct abandoned farm vehicles and machinery that we see often off the beaten track. I find it fascinating how some vehicles look like they have been parked years ago in working order but never to be utilised or moved again, sitting there being claimed by nature all with a backstory 😊

I drink from streams but mostly high up or on woodland where the springs are filtered. You have to use your common sense. If it's lowland then yeah filter it, if it's a sub aqua spring it's all good. This was a sub aqua spring. Well, take care. Mark

Now that the farmer has seen you using it and filming it I can guarantee that tap, which has been accessible to anyone for years, will soon be moved, probably into the yard, making it inaccessible to walkers. You need to stop advertising certain things Mark, not everyone needs to know everything.
