Hey Mike, thank you for the video, it helped me! Just one question: how can i put a force on the cylinder which changes with the Pistonmovement? like at the beginning its like 100 N, middle 20 N and at the end 60 N.

May you please do a simulation including a one power pack, one directional control valve, one double acting cylinder compressing a spring or simply a single acting cylinder and one accumulator as an emergency source? In fact , I wanted to know how pressure changes in my circuit when the accumulator is used to compress a spring as an emergency source and pump is off. My guess: My pump will charge accumulator to its maximum value set on the pressure relief valve. Then I turn pump off. Pressure in my system will simply be the set value on the PRV. Then I will actuate my directional control valve to make the double acting cylinder compress the sring or compress the single acting cylinder. I should expect the pressure of my system to instantly drop to a value ( which is based on the initial force to compress the spring) .....pressure will then start from this value and continue increasing according to the compression force of the spring!!! Am I right ??

PROPOSAL OF A SIMULATOR FOR A PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE IN A BLOWOUT PREVENTER SYSTEM Abstract: BLOWOUT PREVENTER (BOP) IS A FUNDAMENTAL BARRIER IN SAFETY DRILLING AND WELL COMPLETION OPERATIONS THAT REQUIRE AVAILABILITY AND RELIABILITY AS FACTORS THAT MUST BE EFFICIENTLY MANAGED. HOWEVER, STUDIES DEMONSTRATE THAT THE EQUIPMENT STILL PRESENTS A HIGH INDEX OF FAILURES AND UNAVAILABILITY TIME, WITH THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE BEING ONE OF THE MAIN COMPONENTS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM. THEREFORE, THE OBJECTIVE of the research is to DEVELOP A MATHEMATICAL MODELING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIMULATOR OF THE REGULATOR DYNAMICS, IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CONDITION-BASED MAINTENANCE STUDIES (CBM). SIX MAIN STEPS WERE ADOPTED WITH THE PURPOSE OF ACHIEVING THE PURPOSE OF THE WORK. ANALYSIS OF THE PHYSICS OF THE COMPONENT'S FUNCTIONING PHYSICS and the IDENTIFICATION OF OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS IN THE LITERATURE WERE NECESSARY, as well as the COMPUTATIONAL MODELING AND SIMULATION DEVELOPED IN THE SIMULINK/MATLAB SOFTWARE. THE RESULTS ACHIEVED IN THIS PROJECT STAGE WERE ADHERENT TO THE LITERATURE, REPRESENTED FOR THE PRESSURE LOAD CURVE PROFILES, SPEED AND DISPLACEMENT OF THE FLOW CONTROL MECHANISM. THE EVALUATIONS demonstrated POTENTIAL USE TO AID FUTURE FAULT SCENARIO ANALYSIS AND OBTAIN INFORMATION TO IMPLEMENT CBM IN HYDRAULIC COMPONENTS OF THE BOP ASSEMBLY. Why didn't you just use a relief valve at the start of the whole process? You could have moved your cylinder with less work. Does this program support different valves?

With the programme you can set up all types of valves. And you could test if a relief valve would be beneficial.
