Hi Sticky Ricky, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much your videos and livestreams have reignited my passion for strength training. For years, I was stuck in that "pencilneck" mentality, always focusing only on good form and technique. But thanks to you, I’ve rediscovered the joy of just pushing heavy weights and moving them - I absolutely love it. Sometimes, I catch myself imagining you working out next to me, and I feel this strong drive to not disappoint you, which pushes me to give 110%. Your content has also made a positive impact on my personal life - things are going much better thanks to your videos. Please keep being yourself, and keep making content - I really need it! Best wishes, Dokan

Agreed with the comments on stretch mania right now, armwrestlers heavily prioritize curls with a very shortened range of motion and yet they have succulent veiny, brutally strong biceps.
@ericbugenhagenOfficial20 күн бұрын
Stretch mania is 100% a fad and will be dead a year from now…I guarantee it
@Felale19 күн бұрын
But could their biceps be bigger if they stretched them? The only thing is they don’t want to stretch them they want to be locked in because once your arm is extended you lost.
@BradleyCTurner19 күн бұрын
Theyre also probably big because they put a ton of focus on them, normal gym bro probably isnt.
@humanbean319 күн бұрын
@@Felale go watch levan curl some massive weights that were unheard of except for perhaps denis cyplenekov (another armwrestler) and ask if his "biceps could be bigger"... the answer is no. they could not be bigger because he wouldn't be single curling over 300 pounds with one hand if he was getting a "proper stretch"
@jazzyje5ter22318 күн бұрын
@@humanbean3idk man I doubt that. If someone isn’t training the most lengthened part of their muscle, they’re probably missing out on gains/strength and it would also probably help prevent injury. But it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to train in a lengthened position for them if they’re trying to avoid that when competing

Former distance runner weighing in. Jogging combines the worst aspects of walking and proper running. No speed and almost impossible to overload, yet you still have to absorb all of the force of your body landing from the stride. Truly a pencil neck activity. Focus on getting good knee/leg drive and getting your thighs at least parallel with the ground. Each individual stride will be harder than a jogging step, but it's so much more conducive to horse cockery for blistering speeds. I always had good leg drive, but once I just started blasting every practice my senior year I shaved 30 seconds off my 5k and like 2 minutes off my 10k. It truly saddens me whenever I see someone at my local gym get on the treadmill and jog with the shortest strides and lowest knee drive you've ever seen.

The stretch-shortening cycle takes advantage of the natural elasticity of muscles and tendons, allowing athletes to produce more force and be more powerful. When a muscle stretches quickly before a contraction, such as when accelerating for a vertical jump, the stretch reflex allows for greater force output.
