My sibling and I watched that together and when the grandmother suddenly dies when she'd been just dancing and singing in the opening song, my brother and I thought we'd missed something. @@abelarmstrong8054 And video games. I'm playing FF7 Rebirth right now and stopped to realize that most of the cast have either lost one parent or both. Then I started thinking of the other recent FF games. XVI has Clive (the main character) lose his father and his mother, um...well, without complete spoilers but it's fine if his mother dies, given the type of person she is, lol. FF XV has Noctis become parentless at 20. FF XIV is an MMORPG and I've not played that one to know if there's any parent murder. But FF XIII has plenty yet again. That's the last one I played (aside from dipping my feet briefly into FF VIII, and yep, Leon/Squall also has parent murder, lol). And this is just Final Fantasy! So many other games seem to make it a point in just killing off parents 😆
