I bought the CHEAPEST 2002 Subaru WRX, and I'm turning it into a track car!

I just bought a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX for my new track car! I'll be autocrossing and tracking it, but first I have to figure out everything that's wrong with it and fix it up. In this video, I buy the car, fix a few things so I can drive it home, and walk you through why I bought this and sold a Miata.

I bought my bugeye in 2015 for $900. Had a blown motor, cog idler pulley seized, every valve was bent to shit. Shes amazing now. Best of luck getting it squared away.

Invidious Ignoramus lmaoooo, needs a bit, but worth the price, I meant 240k not 140k, but it runs good, engine and tranny are healthy, it has some rust issues and a few small issues like no horn, no radio one door doesn’t have a linkage and the hatch doesn’t have a linkage.

Just got one for 1360. 2002 with 05 sti front clip and interior and suspension 80k on brand new jdm motor with a bad headgasket... just got one of the heads off and sent to the shop to get machined.. will be getting the other one off .. hopefully driveable soon !

Wow i just picked up a black bug eye about 2 weeks ago i drove it from 29 palms to pomona so roughly 150 miles rpms were high lowered it some sensors are deleted from my computer so in the process of making it better and same thing with my tires my fronts were balded so bought new ones when i was there due to the owner not telling me but other that best decision ever!

I like subarus, the one thing that's annoying though is you have to drop the engine to work on it (depending on the type of work obviously).

Drop the engine? Why wouldnt you just yank it out of the top and slap it on an engine stand? Makes it much easier to see everything and install things properly

Get the maintenance up to date before you start modifying, a car that runs and handles like new is a lot better than a worn-out car with some mods.

just bought an auto 02 wrx with $5k in mods for $600. Turns out the head gaskets are gone so im going to slap some in and send it. Lady owned it for years and her son had it tuned and stuff. she just drove it like normal lol.

How much did you pay for it because I'm looking at some cheap wrxs And honestly my big worry is the motor going I'm okay with having problems, the point is to fix it but I don't wanna bite off more than I can chew. I'm fine with other problems, so long as the engine isn't shot or doesn't blow up Even headgaskets don't really scare me, I just don't want a car I can't at least drive sometimes as I work on it
